I drive past here often and the lot is always crowded. I told my wife that we would have to try it out and see why it was so popular. We stopped in for an early dinner and were greeted and seated at a booth in the bar area. Our waitress was very nice and we told her it was our first time dining. She had many suggestions and knew the entire menu very well. I was a bit shocked at the prices as some of the appetizers and other entrees were more than I expected. We decided to have an appetizer dinner so we ordered the Rueben Rolls, cream cheese with corn beef and sauerkraut rolled up in a wonton like an egg roll with Thousand island dressing for a dipping sauce. We also ordered 10 boneless wings with half Wild Thai sauce and half Honey BBQ. We had Iced tea to drink. The order arrived within five minutes and was very hot. When they arrived we had decided to add one more appetizer so we went with the Calamari. Literally less than a minute later our Calamari arrived as well, piping hot. Each app was $13 or $14 dollars and the beverages were $2.75 each. Here is the thing, each app tasted the SAME! Very one note, poorly seasoned and the boneless wings were just weird. The Honey BBQ was pretty much just honey. The Rueben Rolls were large but had little flavor, even the dressing had a bland taste. The Calamari tasted EXACTLY like the rolls and everything else, no flavor other than the oil they were fried in. I realized that pretty much anything on this ENTIRE menu is frozen and either deep fried in the same oil or quickly heated and served. I highly doubt ANYTHING is prepared fresh. We were ordering appetizers and I expected they would be deep fried but was baffled by the lack of seasoning and flavor just the same. If you've ever been to a Greek restaurant then you may understand the menu with a numerous variety of items and overall so so food. Except for the great service I was not impressed. As we walked out having spent nearly $55 for the two of us to share a few awful appetizers I was very disappointed and wanted to tell the steady stream of people entering that they should turn back and save themselves! I guess the popularity here is the location. It seemed to be a place for corporate meetings and larger work parties which makes sense in this area. Overall, not worth it, don't waste your...
Read moreI hope this review stands out, and comes across as what it is intended to be; a thank you.
I walked into Bullwinkles at the Galleria around 2 years ago, hungry for a good meal. But 2 years later, I have been fed by not only incredible food…homemade crusted pizza, a chicken pot pie great for any dreary day, Greek wings that make your mouth water thinking about, and so on. Not only have I been filled with those great menu items; I’ve found an atmosphere where I am welcomed, seen and of course, fed. The staff at Bullwinkles has become an extended family. That’s why this review is worth reading; it’s not about the food or the service. It’s about treating others how we’d all like to be treated.
I’ve been present for plenty of the complaints I’m sure some have experienced. I’ve seen great victories too. I’ve seen the hard work that each and every staff member pours into this place. Seen waitresses come to tears by how they were treated. I’ve seen smiles too, that outnumber tears shed.
Many of my friends know the importance of this place to me. I’m glad to share this, because I think sometimes the most noble thing we can be, is kind. And that is always being served here.
From cooks in the kitchen, those greeting you at the hostess station, to those on the expo line, to Yasmine/Rachel/Christian/Jacob/Steph/Hailey/Joe/Natalie/Lydia/Ally rocking it as servers, Mady/Taylor/Courtney/Lindsey/Makenna/Sarah holding down the bar, and Tina & Peter and Cortney & Sakis leading the charge…they all care so deeply about their role in a business that has one goal; to serve you and create a great experience in the process.
So yes, this is long winded, but they deserve the praise. I hope you’ve read this far. But I truly hope you give this...
Read moreDon't go, you'll be left with a bad taste in your mouth. Don't take your family either. Horrible management, horrible service, disrespectful, awful people run this place. The manager threatened to call the police if we did not pay the bill, mind you no one was trying to not pay, all I wanted was some semblance of good customer service and for the discount offered to be honored. I expected an apologetic manager who wanted my business. Instead I got a manager who argued with us, interrupted me when I was talking and threatened... I was trying to hold the other manager to his word. After being interrupted several times and expecting a discount accommodate us for the long wait and misunderstanding on the bill. Even after I told him we were repeat customers, the manager still disrespected us. I thought money was green and that's all that mattered. 10% off is not going to make or break your business but I hope this bad review will. I have never been to a business where the manage argues with the customer and threatens to call the police. It was surprising to wait 50 minutes for wings on a Tuesday night. The person who said they were the manager offered to take care of us when the bill came. No discount was offered but they offered dessert. Dessert! The "main" manager came to the table and would not let me complete my sentences, interrupted me and threatened to call the police if I did not pay the bill. Who does that. . When I asked about the discount, the other manager said he was not going to honor it and dared me not to pay the bill especially since I said that I was going to post on social media....
