Lux Spa Nails Catskill Inc — Attraction in Town of Catskill

I would never recommend or go back to this place. The guy who worked on my hands and feet was incredibly rude and had no training. He kept making snide off handed remarks under his breath and glares never ended. He tried using old unclean tools on me and when i remarked on this he quickly apologized and switched out the tools. His female co-worker even noticed his behavior. Also all of the products he used were of serious low quality and had terrible odors. Again, I would never go back and I will not recommend.

I can also ask the other person who was with me during this visit to write a review as well if you like? YOU absolutely do have a male tech working there, since he worked on myself and the other technician "female" worked on my friend. One of your other reviews lists a male named "DANG". Your guy wiped the dirt from my nails onto my skin and not on any cloth. He washed his utensils and other items in the water that my feet were soaking in as well as a multitude of other infractions and unclean practices. My friend witnessed this as well as the female tech working on him. You, the owner I presume, were standing in the front talking on the phone to someone wanting to make an appointment and two older women were at a table opposite us and one of them was getting her nails done. I take slight offense to you saying I must be thinking of another Nail Salon. It was your salon since you are the only one next to a Dunkin Donuts in Catskill. You only take cash and I had to use the ATM machine up front to pay. We choose the top pedicure and after the poor experience we switched to basic manicure and I still tipped both techs. Just made an attempt to schedule an appointment for a full set and got the most rude and condescending male over the phone. I found this guys (who became offended over an inquiry into his experience as a nail technician) response to be reminiscent of that of a snide teenage girl with a bad attitude problem who doesn't seem to have any sociable skills. After hearing this guys voice, I believe him to be the one and only male employed at Lux (he must be the owner or operator) because it seems like he's use to speaking to individuals in a condescending and superior manner. Considering he's the only male I've encountered at this establishment and as it is often the "norm" within certain cultures for the "male" to dominate and dictate, I am not at all surprised by his attitude and lack of concern for how he is perceived by others. I'd avoid this establishment, especially considering that they've just lost one of the few talented, younger more adapt techs that they had working there. The place now consists of older female nail technicians that have such a language barrier that you can barely as a customer effectively explain what service you're looking to receive. There is also the fact that majority of the female technicians appear to be a bit older, out of touch and annoyingly reluctant to just provide you with whatever service you are requesting. The quality of the work is overrated and considering the fact that the other nail salons in the area offer lackluster quality work and laughable customer service this place is definitely benefiting from being the "least" terrible salon and spa when compared to the other worse places in town. They are clean. Very important to a customer also i came in for a redo from a bad nail style from another place . I did on the same day so they could fix me , they took me and fixed my gel they used the dremal on gel polish and told me it burns because i just got them done ... they spoke their language and laughed while looking at me I wont go back there now they really need to understand that they are rude speaking in another language while you sit in front of them and when finished they wanted me to do a review in front of them I showed them I already had a great review up from prior service but Joy really needed to take my phone from me and put another up but she couldnt figure it out she was rude , pushy and invaded my soace thats why this review is going up . Im sure they wil not accept responsibility for these actions and argue against it but what I'm posting is the exact truth . Also FYI make sure you tell them to soak off Gel and ANC its the proper way to do the nail ive learned from someone that has a license so you can save the health of your nail this is not a joke !! Save your nail and demand they soak them . They need to take pride in their work instead of the almighty dollar while not caring for you properly .
