I just left City Nails. This is my first bad review of any service It was my first time there and my last. I received poor service and poor workmanship as evidenced by my pictures. Jim, I'm told was the rep who did my pedicure. My feet were in plain water, no scrub. As the end, He did use about 2 drops of a scrub on my right foot, went up and then down with his hand, and nothing on the left. The paint job is extremely poor and He even dropped the nail polish brush on my big toe as it came apart from the cap as he painted. Another shop would have removed the polish from that toe and repainted. He did nothing to my cutucle, no oil or anything. I was taken to fan, it was up front, with better lighting. I them able to see how bad the job was that he did. I took pics. I brought this to the attention female employee at the desk as I was under the fan near the front with better lighting. I showed her my pics and I told her this was a very poor job and that I was not satisfied. She gazed at the pics and immediately started talking to her coworker in her language, totally disregarding my comments. As my daughter took more pics in her view as we were getting ready to leave, she then said..: Do you want another top coat".
By the way, my daughter got a full set of nails that was horrible also. No additiomal layer top coat was fixing this. Two employees who cant do nails in one shop is 2 too many.
Kudos to the great nail shops that do great work. I will...
Read moreI always get my nails done at LR Nails but they are closed on Tuesdays. I had a nail emergency and thought I would try City Nail since I was close by and had a coupon. Never again! The store itself looked like it hadn't been cleaned in months, the staff had a general air of disinterest in any of the clients or potential clients in the store (one person came in asked about services, sat down with a technician and then got up and left), the ANC color selection was minimal and the person sitting next to me as well as myself ended up with colors shades and hues different than that which we picked, the "sterile" equipment was set aside and cuticle clippers that were already out of the package and used were used, covered back up and put back in the drawers for the next customer and because they soaked my hands in acetone instead of wrapping my finger tips my hands feel dry and chapped. The whole experience was uncomfortable and very rushed. The two other customers in the store at the time made complaints as well but the staff either didn't speak English or didn't much care. In the end even though I had a coupon I didn't save any money either. My advice, go...
Read moreI've been going to City Nails since 2016 and tried other nail salons in between and nothing compares to the other places in Colonie/Albany area. KEY POINTS: Great Staff, nice variety of colours and methods (gel, ANC, etc), Clean business, ALWAYS leaving happy. I have my Cosmetologist license and I observe places very thoroughly, City Nails is clean (could be cleaner with the hand towels as in changing them more frequently). They take good care of their tools, stations, and sanitize properly ESPECIALLY the pedicure areas. The nail techs are usually the same lovely people with some new faces from time to time but they're nice, professional, do an amazing job I've never had a bad experience. Sometimes you'll have to clarify what you want with the new tech's but that's normal for anyone new. Show them pics and they ace that too, I love when they give their thoughts especially with colours and shades (picking out the right nude). I always find myself choosing this place to be my security blanket for my nails, they're amazing, they listen, they get the job done in a good time frame, great massage on the pedis, and while waiting for your nails to dry (that's...
