Our Hannoush Experience â A Tale of Unfortunate Events
Short Version: 5 total visits across 4 months. Purchased engagement ring and wedding band with flushed fit promised during first visit. 3 visits later, never fixed. Almost sent us home with the loose diamond and empty ring setting. No quality control â engagement ring was warped & wedding band was the wrong ring size. When they gracefully boast, âwe will work with you to make you happy,â what they really mean is, âyou can pay for our mistakes until we get it right,â (but they never get it right L O L).
Long Version (for those who want all the tea)
During our first visit in October, my now fiancĂ© and I finalized our purchase on an engagement ring and wedding band at Hannoush. We worked with the manager, Michelle, who throughout the entire exchange promised that the rings would sit flush (no space in between the rings when on the finger). Having the rings sit flush was very important to me and the main reason why we purchased both rings at the same time. I was comforted with their, âdonât worry, weâll make it work, we want you to be happy,â motto (remember this for later in the story).
Flash forward to November, my fiancĂ© picks up the rings only to discover that the engagement ring was warped. In addition, you could visibly see how the head and shank of the ring were soldered together (chunky, not smooth finish â pic attached). He brought the ring back and while they were able to straighten it, they said nothing could be done with the head since âthatâs just how it's attached,â. Flash forward again to December, we officially get engaged, I try on the two rings together and indeed they do not sit flush.
After sharing the ring with our family and friends over the holidays, we headed back to Hannoush in January to discuss how they can fix the rings to sit flush, since we were not provided what we were promised. Michelle again stated their favorite quote, âdonât worry, weâll work with you,â but we quickly discovered that really meant, âas long as you pay for our mistakes, weâll keep changing it until you are happy,â. She told us it would be ~$400 to have the ring made so that the head (prongs) sat on the shank of the ring. We come back a week later to, I kid you not, the ugliest ring I have ever seen. They handed me a 3+ mm band (promised it would be no bigger than 2.5mm) engagement ring that couldâve easily passed for a menâs wedding band. After about 30 minutes of back and forth, their final offer was that they could try to sand down the sides to make it thinner but that we would have to pay the $400 regardless even if we didnât like it. At that point, I asked for my original ring back to which they told me they would only give me the loose diamond and empty ring setting (since the prongs were cut when they took out the diamond). I almost instantly started crying when I realized they were actually going to send me home with no ring after all their mistakes. Somehow, after several tears shed, they were miraculously able to reset my diamond in my original engagement ring setting within less than 10 minutes. (Keep in mind, our sale rep was continuously discussing with the owners of Hannoush about our situation but they never once came to talk to us and offer a solution, despite visually witnessing the blatant disappointment and distress on our faces).
After getting back my ring, we handed them (for the last time) my wedding band to fix because guess what, it was the wrong size!! We said good riddance after picking up the wedding band and will never step foot in Hannoush again.

Read moreMy husband and I went there to get a few repairs done on some jewelry. I really enjoyed this place at first and was looking into a few of their pieces which I absolutely loved. Iâm giving this rating because recently we went back there and while we were being served there were a two other customers who were shopping for some jewelry. One of the workers asked these customers which where âwhiteâ if they would like anything to drink while we were also standing right there and did not ask us if we would like anything. We came into the store at the same time as the other customers. I thought my husband didnât notice but he did and it was just not very nice that the staff did that. Like I said I really did enjoy this place and love some of their pieces which I wanted to get myself but my husband and I will not be returning to this establishment for any of their services. I hope that this feedback is taken to ensure that this does not happen with other customers in the future.
Update: as a result of my very first review I was asked to call to speak to the manager which I did. Michele asked me to explain to her what happened which I did. She then went on to say that what I said was not a valid reason for this being something that was racially based and that the situation did not have any substance. I gave Michele multiple explanations a to why I felt the way that did and that I was not pleased with the level of service that I receive. She was more focused on telling me that the Hannoushs are not pleased to read a review like this and that it extremely upsetting to them. And that she has been working there for 20 years and and they donât typically ask every customer if they would like a beverage while in the store. I explained to her that I felt like the sole purpose of asking me to reach out was for me to remove the review and she agreed. No apology was issued she said that she cannot apologize for something that she didnât agree with that was racially based because to her it was not. She completely disregarded what I was trying to say and what my point was. This is extremely unprofessional and felt more of a hijack than a conversation. I am extremely disappointed in how this situation...
Read moreWe worked with David (the owner) and Brittany at the Albany store to design a custom engagement ring. We live an hour and a half away from this location. On multiple occassions the staff have stayed open late to assist us, because by the time we get there, it's almost their closing time. I would also like to add that Eli is another great employee, who is kind, patient and extremely knowledgeable about his craft.
I am an extremely picky person, especially when it came to my engagement ring. David was very accommodating and listened to my questions and assisted me with making my ring a dream come true. Brittany is also wonderful and extremely personable. This staff is highly knowledgeable, accommodating, and I couldn't dream of a better ring. It is absolutely perfect! When I first saw it, I was speechless in its beauty. It is hard to take 2 ring designs and merge them into one perfect ring. Thank you for your time, patience and expertise work!! You have taken what I envisioned and made it into a reality. I highly recommend the Albany store, especially if you want a custom piece. I've always loved Hannoush's style and flair. I hope they make all your dreams come true, like they have with mine. I will definitely be going back for our wedding band designs. Thank you again to their...
