Fresh Wave Sushi and Poke Bowl — Restaurant in Town of Colonie

Don’t pass this place up just because it’s located within a gas station! It is NOT your typical “gas station sushi” - a phrase people often use when they want to say something is bad.

The prices are good for poke and sushi. The staff are friendly and take extra care to prepare each order. The portions are generous, and everything was very fresh. Since I only wanted one topping on my poke bowl (seaweed salad), they offered to triple the amount so I wasn’t wasting my number of free toppings - they gave me an insane amount of seaweed salad. So much that it basically could have been its own separate side dish. Again just thoughtful that they suggested that, and very generous portions for the price.

Perfect sushi and poke to go. The sit down area is clean and inviting, but I’ve always gotten my sushi rolls and poke bowls to go and have never been disappointed. I’ll admit that I was a little hesitant to order from here at first, what with it being attached to a Mobile gas station, but I’m glad that I did. Surprising spot! They were nice and in addition to japanse soda, they had some interesting other drinks. I ordered onigiri, made right on the spot, and avocado smoothie which subtle sweet. Good portions! Rice was great and the crab filling was delicious. I didn't get to dine in this time but seating was available and it was clean and nice. I will go back for their poke bowls and to try other sushi rolls. Support...
