Uncle Sam's All-American Chocolate Factory — Attraction in Town of Colonie

While shopping today with my sister who has Parkinson’s and is in a wheelchair she purchased over $105 in chocolates for her friend, staff, and maintenance workers at the Eddy in Niskayuna for Christmas gifts. She purchased one chocolate tool set which was in a box and covered with cellophane. I asked the older woman who usually works in the back of the store if she could wrap it in Christmas paper which was clearly displayed behind her (3 different patterns of paper) with ribbons and bows. She said to us that her manager or the owner said no we can’t wrap that because it’s in a box and it has clear cellophane on it so it’s already wrapped. To our dismay, we said OK, but to be honest, I don’t think she wanted to wrap. She was rushing us out of the store it seemed. Not very happy with this customer service, especially this time of year when we only asked her to wrap one box of chocolates not the numerous individual chocolates we purchased. Very disappointed in the store and her lack of customer service. We will not shop...

The chocolate covered strawberries they do every year for Valentines Day are wonderful. The prices are good, they package them nicely and they have their indoor pickup set up so it's easy to get to. They also have white chocolate covered strawberries which are hard to find.

I forgot to order ahead this year and I was able to walk in on Valentines Day and get 6 white chocolate covered strawberries in a gift box.

They have a wide selection of chocolates and they are very good. My husband loves their white chocolate malted milk balls. They have milk chocolate, dark chocolate and caramel covered apples too.

They have a decent selection of chocolate but the customer service is definitely lacking. When we first arrived, the staff were talking to each other. They continued to talk about something for the 5 minutes we browsed without ever greeting or offering assistance.

After browsing for this time, the person finally made a comment about watching our highly trained guide dog around the chocolate because it was highly toxic to dogs. Obviously we know that and she would need to ingest a large amount for there to be an actual risk. But sitting there, not sniffing the chocolate she was at no risk. We left and bought the chocolate gifts elsewhere....
