It was my friend and I first time attending this establishment and we both agree that this is an underrated very nice secret spot 👍. We drive by it all the time and the look of it from outside just draws the interest of any passerby. They mainly specialize in beers and have sixteen different drafts on tap which changes approximately every week or so. Nick was our bartender and he was truly amazing. Thank you Nick! We will definitely be coming back. He spun us up on the history of the establishment with how far in which it came from. June is their anniversary party and this year will be four years. The establishment is very clean, spacious and has a very nice interior design. They also have beers for sale in cans. It is a nice spot to sit and socialize or even grab a bite to eat! By far one of the best far foods I've seen. Their menu is quite diverse and the presentation of some of the different foods speaks volume. (Couldn't take pics of other people's food). We ordered thr birria Tacos and they were amazing 🌮 😋. There is also a patio outback in which you can go eat, drink and socialize. One thing I found interesting is that they have gold plates on the wall with the engravings of customers names who completed the 100 beer challenge. If you drink 100 different beers in the span of a year, you can get your name engraved on a gold plate and placed on the wall. Pretty cool of you ask me. My friend started and only 97 more to go! 🍻

I live in Austin but have visited Beer Bones just about every trip back East for several years, including last night. This is one of those spots I am delighted survived the pandemic shutdowns, and even better, has thrived and improved. The draft beer list and atmosphere is still solid, the 16 or so taps well-curated, and the cooler full of local and regional favorites in cans and bottles for onsite or takeaway consumption. But the menu is much bigger, much better, and much more adventurous. This is not just simple pub grub! Example? My choice of Pork OssoBucco on the bone that was fork tender, juicy and flavorful, perfectly seasoned over homemade mashed potatoes., Companions ordered a classic Lobster Roll that looked perfect, and Shrimp Tacos that were delicious as well. They've added grilled salmon, several burgers and sandwiches and expanded the starters as well. It can get a bit noisy, with tile walls, concrete floors and a spirited crowd, but nothing too challenging. Fast friendly service too, with knowledgeable beertenders behind the bar. Tucked in a somewhat nondescript strip of stores, this gem might be easy to miss, but is well worth seeking out.

I never like to leave negative reviews, however, I feel it’s my obligation to steer people in the right direction. Beer Bones is certainly not the right direction. The only reason I’m granting 2 stars is because of the mediocre rotating draft list which is heavily IPA weighted. The food, which is highly priced, I would not consider eating again if I was paid. The chicken sandwich was overly breaded with a soaking bun and oversized thinly cut chicken breast. The burger was drowned in Dijon Mustard and falling apart; lacking any cohesive qualities (as depicted in the photo). The restaurant itself filled with thick and oily smoke from the kitchen only after prepping 3 dishes (served to my table). More than likely the smoke is from an unclean and improperly vented kitchen, as the staff members went without being phased from the smoke. Easily in my top 3 worst dining experiences.

I stopped into this establishment this evening and grabbed a beer out of the cooler and sat down at the bar to enjoy it. I was expecting to spend about $5 but was told mid way through that it was a $7 beer due to the $2 corkage fee. It's been over a year since I purchased a beer out of the cooler and was taken by the price and made a comment to the bartender that it seemed excessive and don't ever remember paying a corkage fee. Another patron that is a permanent fixture at the bar said that this has been the policy ever since they opened. I recognized him from the last time I frequented this establishment about a year ago and was polite to him as I always am. Anyhow I complained a little bit to both him and the bartender but did not think much of it. I asked if the owners name was Murray and they laughed and said that it was, but refused to tell me his real name and I just took that in stride. When the owner did show up I could see him talking to them and he approached me and asked me to leave because he said "I was complaining to the staff and the patrons that the price of my beer was too much". I laughed and said that's true and I mentioned that I don't ever remember paying a corkage fee. He said that it was built into the price and I probably never realized it. He said that the beer was on the house but insisted that I leave. I was going to tell him that I sat there waiting for a menu for 20 minutes which was never provided but I just said that it was wrong of him to ask me to leave before talking to me about things and based on the fact that I complained about the price of a beer. I felt unwelcome and insisted on paying my tab. It turned out that the $7 beer I was quoted was actually $8.99. The Owner who's real name was Rory offered to adjust the tab but I paid it and left after telling him him my opinion of his mistreatment of the situation. This seemed intentional and I will be taking my business elsewhere. I would not recommend this establishment to anyone I...

First time trying Beer Bones and unfortunately we won't be back.

Starting with positives, the place is CLEAN! No dust or grime in sight. Dim lighting with casual seating and somewhat busy for a Thursday night. Very cozy even with board games available.

The server was also attentive and polite and knowledgeable. I didnt know what drink I wanted but I described what I liked and he found me the perfect beer. Also kept us with us regularly throughout the night while busy. A great server and bartender.

The food is where things went wrong. We ordered the appetizer pretzel with beer cheese and my fiancé got a Beer Bones Cheesesteak which he enjoyed except for the small portions and maybe a bit more cheese. I got the bacon bleu cheese burger and both entrees came with what tasted like tostito chips straight out of the bag. The burger had one strip of bacon with a bleu cheese sauce that had zero essence of bleu cheese. It was also kind of cold and soaked entirely in grease which is normally great for burgers. Except this grease had an aura of frozen patty. The cheesesteak was finished because it was only half a hoagie and lightly loaded, reportedly passable flavor but small portion. The pretzels were good and the beer cheese was flavorful but lightly mixed and needed a little help fully melding. I took a few bites of the burger but admittedly couldn't finish it to the point we didnt need to go boxes. My fiancé also got sick the next day at work so take that as you will. All in all the atmosphere, servers and options are on point especially with the bar. The kitchen needs a little help with execution. Fantastic place to drink and hangout, not a great...

I write this review with a heavy heart because my first experience with Beer bones was really great. The first time I came was during off hours where there were maybe only 8 people in the bar including my group of four. Food and beer and customer service was on point so obviously me and my friends were really excited to come back during for trivia on Tuesday.

My second experience started off great. Food and beer was great again and we were doing really well in trivia (which is rare). We won the second round and got a koozie and stickers. The prize for the 3rd round was supposed to be glassware (just 1 glass) and somehow we won! So we were really excited. But when we went to pick up the glassware, we were told by the trivia host that the owner said we won too many rounds and can't have the glass. Then the team that won after us, got a bucket of beers AND the glassware. We were very disheartened after this. After doing poorly the next two rounds, the trivia host even said "how the mighty has fallen" in regards to us which disheartened us even more. We were able to get back up to third place at the end but was unable to enjoy the comeback due to how we were treated.

I wish I can just let this go and be able to enjoy this bar again, but I don't think I can go back without thinking about how hurt I felt during my second experience.

I will not be going back because of this experience. I only hope that the owner can grow from this and become a bit more fair or at least get on the same page as the trivia host on when to...
