It’s taken me a while to write this as our experience was absolutely awful. I own a business and we have used Saati a few times for catering and the food is good. We used them for a lunchtime work party and picked up the food. We ordered veggies, saffron rice, and some other dishes that would typically be hot dishes. My husband picked up the food and didn’t check it. We got to our party location and all of the food was cold (not it got cold, it was straight out of the fridge). I called and they said we could drive the food back and they would warm it up, by the time we got back the work party would be over. We were told the owner would call us back. Thankfully the venue microwaved plates of food so my employees could eat. Our saffron rice was labeled rice pilaf- rice pilaf typically has orzo in it so my gluten free employees couldn’t eat it. After 3 or 4 phone calls over the course of a week, I finally got the owner on the phone. He was EXTREMELY condescending and rude. He told me it was my fault I didn’t specify I wanted the food hot (mind you- this is veggies, rice, and meat). He assumed since it was early in the day I wanted to heat it up later, my response was that he should have asked that, it was for lunch. I also told him we got the wrong rice and my gluten free employees couldn’t eat it. He said- saffron rice is the same as rice pilaf and he has never heard of rice pilaf having orzo in it (saffron rice and rice pilaf are two different items on his menu). His final respond was, “well, what do you want me to do about it”. He finally offered to refund $50 on our order, which was around $350. I said ok, he never refunded the $50 on the card. People make mistakes and an apology would have been all that was actually necessary. He made no apologies and was very rude. So use at your own risk- the food is good and if you have no issues you will enjoy your experience. If there are any issues, this man takes no issue with yelling at you and taking no ownership for his mistakes. Personally we will never...
Read moreI love Saati Deli! Every time I’m in Latham I have to stop in to get a sandwich. The menu is so big and so many different things to choose from. I love everything but my go to is the fresh cooked Turkey on ciabatta bread with bacon. The bacon is real thick sliced bacon too and always crispy. They also carry my favorite chips Deep river sweet Maui. If I’m feeling gluttonous I will also grab a soup they are all homemade and so good. The chicken noodle is my go to. If they have the creamy chicken get that too! The catering is amazing. We’ve ordered catering a few times for pick up and it’s always ready and waiting for us. So much food. I recommend you try the homemade hummus, the best I’ve ever had! The sandwich platters are made with fresh meat and bread they come with potato salad, macaroni salad, coleslaw and pickles. We have used Saati for holiday parties as well and the packages are perfect no need to make anything. The thanksgiving packages are more than enough to accommodate everyone with left overs the stuffing is the best I’ve ever had. For Easter last year we ordered the sliced fillet with veggies it came with chocolate cake too. Everyone raved about it. I can’t say enough about Saati Deli, this is best deli in...
Read moreThey don’t properly describe menu items in detail and most importantly, they fail to remember every item in order. I had a 6 item order… only 6 items. Paid for 6. I got 5. How can the catering be trusted at this level of incompetence? Having executed hundreds of large complicated, highly modified orders without a single error each day for years, I find their failure here unacceptable.
You all ruined my girlfriend’s meal, and I take that seriously!
If you need a better manager, contact me, Im available and I’ll do it for a fraction of my few because I care about the menu here and hate to see it disrespected by lazy and willfully imprecise workers.
But please spare me any boilerplate response that puts the onus all on me to see any recompense, or leave me with no true recourse.
4.1 is not good for any food service establishment. I remember when Saati commanded respect in this area. Womppp
Ugh, had to come back and add that they gave me ranch with their fish and chips, not tartar sauce as advertised. This is another shameful, embarrassing mistake. Completely ruins the meal. I have no words for...
