Seneca Harbor Wine Center — Attraction in Town of Dix

We had a group of 12 people that walked into this place interested in doing a wine tasting. We were rudely greeted by a blonde woman who snapped at us and told us there was a private wine tasting occurring and that we would need to come back in an hour. She said this in a way that we should have known that a private event was happening, even though the sign out front and two wide open doors said otherwise. We all walked out immediately and the woman said “I should have removed the sign”. Yes, yes you should have. But to make sure this didn’t happen again, I continued to walk outside and was going to bring the sign inside. The woman followed us out and I handed her the sign. Rudest clerk I have ever met in my life! I have been in this place twice and had the same experience. The first time it was later at night and she was very short and said that she wasn't doing tastings anymore and we could only purchase wine if we wanted. We figured we were just too late and caught her as she was closing, so we decided to give it a second chance.

The second time we went in she was downright ignorant and condescending, starting with telling us we were on the wrong side of the bar and relocating us to the other side. She was ambivalent with me, giving me very little info on the wines and very little attention, but she was flat out rude to to my mother. I have never experienced rudeness like this that was so obvious and intentional at a place of business before.

We were traveling from PA with another couple and stopped in. We had been here a few years back and loved the selection. They we're busy when we arrived and with only 2 ladies working we were greeted quickly and kindly. Keep in mind this is during covid restrictions so their job is extra demanding and they welcomed us like old friends.
