We have stayed before. The lobby had a beautiful fireplace and the restaurant decor is very nice. They had snacks and lemonade in the lobby also. -- No you did everything perfectly. Thank you for that. It was worth every penny. Our family had a great memorable vacation. I posted lots of pics on Instagram. I'll tag the hotel. Also the other guest at the hotel were fun to chat with and friendly -- The gentleman host at the restaurant with the big smile. I don't know his name. We stayed a week and he was their a lot. Brian the bartender. I hope I got his name right. I have no idea of the servers name she wasn't even our server. But she went out of her way to surprise me. I actually told her I loved her. It just came out cuz I was so surprised. Food and sweets make me happy, and so do great people and great service. I believe these wonderful people know who they are especially if they read this. So thank you very much guys. I hope we were pleasant guest to you all. We appreciate you guys so much and that goes for everyone at the hotel. Your truly the best. -- When i was checking in. My credit card had a limit on it that I didn't know about. The front desk was very patient with me when I had to call the bank to fix the problem. Thankfully he was the one who told me that might be the problem, and it was. It must happen alot. -- 2 sinks jacuzzi walk in shower. Huge! Beautiful. -- Our AC broke in the middle of our stay. We called the desk at midnight. We were going to wait till morning but it was to hot to sleep. They called a guy to fix it right away, at midnight. We were so thankfull. The hotel was nice enough to give us a credit for the inconvenience, that we didn't even ask for. Very nice of them. Would definitely stay there again. Great hotel great staff great area. The room was clean and comfy. Good TV, we like the music channels. The house keeping was attentive when needed and always around. They also didn't bother us when we had the do not disturb sign out. We always had fresh towel and lots of them. -- I didn't go to the gym so I'm not sure how that is. I'm sure it was up to par. -- The gentleman at the restaurant. The Host that greeted us and sat us for breakfast and dinner. He also took care of my grab and go order. He was the nicest so professional and took good care of us. The bartender I think his name is Brian. He was so busy doing everything. Full bar and making drinks for the servers. He was amazing! He was singing to the music and the guest were sing also. He was happy and making conversations and making drinks for everyone even went he was so busy .He was fast and fun. We came back to see him again because of that. He should work every night. The Bartender and Host gentleman should get a raise. They really deserve it. They are a great asset to the hotel. The hotel is lucky to have them. -- Professional and well dressed. Patient and attentive. -- We had a AC guy fix our AC in the middle of the night. That service for you. He was fast and professional. -- I left a comment above about the bartender and how amazing he was. He was by himself and he was so busy and still happy and Pleasant. He did a job of 2 people. I believe his name is Brian. The Host gentleman I don't know his name but he had a contagious smile that made you smile back. He always greeted me and said hello everytime I walk by. He always made sure I had the best seat in the restaurant or at least made me feel that way. -- I order the Porterhouse steak med rare. It came out med well. That was the only bad thing. But it wasn't bad at all it was still yummy. I didn't complain. I'm not that kinda person. No big deal. They made up for it in many other ways. Like the fancy chocolate cover cherries you get after dinner. Omg my favorite thing. A nice server treated me to one the night before because I was curious. I was sitting at the bar and noticed the server carrying them. So I asked what they were. She told me, and then she seen me at the fire pit later on and she surprised me with one. She made my day. I have a big...
Read moreCould have been better! Was a nice lake front room. Great turn down service with them leaving slippers and chocolates on our beds a fantastic touch! Rooms clean and pretty comfortable, beds a little too firm for me, but may be ok for a lot of people! My friend and I were there for Fire and ice festival! It was very cold outside so we couldn't really stay outside because of the temperature, and inside the ballroom was so packed and so loud we couldn't find a seat and when we did it was so noisy we couldn't even sit and talk. Also we paid for the festival and wanted a glass of wine but could ONLY get samples! So we had to KEEP GETTING UP AND LOSING OUR SEAT to get a SIP of wine! So we went to the bar instead to buy drinks but that was full too. So we bought our drinks and asked to sit in the dining room! Short blonde hair hostess that was working the dining room said ONLY people eating dinner could sit in the dining room!!!! I said that we paid alot of $$ for a LAKE FRONT room and also just spent a lot on two drinks plus a big tip to the bartender we should be able to sit where we want! She finally let us sit there lol. It was 730 at night and ONLY 5 COUPLES were sitting in that dining room! And no one ELSE cane in after us! We asked a little later if we can order drinks and some snacks in there and have a waiter! She passed us and said" I didn't expect you to buy food! 😂! She had ended up comping our food by the end of the night because I believe she felt like we were going to turn her in because we asked her name which I won't say on here! I don't want anyone to lose their job!But honestly,I don't feel she was genuinely sorry!I just feel like she was trying to get out of getting into trouble because she knew she was wrong!. She even at the end of the night made a point to tell us they were closed and we can sit there as long as we wanted lol. I think she was just hinting around that they were closed! Our waiter was awesome. A young boy about 19 years old. I also think if you have a bar at a hotel why do they close so early? People are spending the night? They should be able to enjoy themselves, 11 pm? Especially on a Friday night and a weekend that you are having a Festival? It was literally my first time getting away in over a year other than a medical trip because I have been fighting Cancer and I was really looking forward to spending quality time with Just hanging out with my good friend and it ended up being a little stressful because of that situation! If you pay that much$ to go to a festival and stay in a lake front room you shouldn't have to be told you cannot sit somewhere also the way they did the wine testing ONLY for the people in the festival was wrong! We paid for that we should have been able to have a glass of wine and sit down and enjoy a conversation without losing our seats and without the music so loud! Wasn't impressed by festival! Or actually the food in the restaurant the scallops were terrible. I couldn't...
Read moreThe hotel is beautiful and centrally located. The service is wonderful, kind and extremely professional. The concierge is lovey. She recommended a bunch of wineries. Front desk staff is always cheerful and helpful. The housekeeping staff does a great job of cleaning and ensuring rooms are fully stocked with essentials. There’s a mini refrigerator in the room which was great to have to keep drinks cold. The rooms are tastefully decorated. The lake views are beautiful. The one complaint about the room is the walls. You can hear everything that happens from your neighbors. It sucked to have a screaming baby at 2AM. We also had people above us walk as though they were wearing rocks on their feet. Thankfully all of this happened towards the end of our stay. A coffee station on each floor every morning is also a welcome amenity. The hotel restaurant staff was fantastic however the food was just meh. A one and done for us. The salmon and the pork chop were both over cooked even though we asked for each to be cooked medium. The wine pours are fabulous. They actually serve a sizable glass of wine and not a 1/4 of the glass like other restaurants. It is after all the finger lakes region. We ate at Thai Elephants for two nights of our stay because it seemed to be the only decent place for good food. People brag about Jerlando’s which is the large Italian restaurant in town. If you enjoy Italian “American” food then it’s the place for you. As a full blooded Italian it’s a hard no from me. The pizza was nothing to write home about. Average at best. We had a tasting at Atwater winery and will not return because our server stood over us the entire time during the tasting. It was really weird and uncomfortable. The wines were just ok. We also had a tasting at Damiani’s winery and that was much better so was the wine and the bonus was that our server checked on us periodically without hovering. Lastly we traveled to 3 Brothers winery and brewery in Geneva which was fun. We purchased a shared tasting for $40 which was more than enough for us. I think that had we purchased a single tasting for each us we would have had a problem driving back to Watkins Glen. We also traveled to the Windmill market in Penn Yan which was just a way to kill some time. Lots of junk for sale there if that’s your thing. We hiked Watkins Glen which was magnificent. There are various trails that you can hike some more challenging than others. It really was beautiful. We also drove to Corning for an afternoon to tour the glass museum which was fabulous and could have spent an additional hour or two on top of the 4 hours that we were there. The museum is beautifully curated and very interesting. Overall a great stay in Watkins Glen and we would...
