I looked at other reviews which were pretty bad and ignored them, my loss is hopefully you’re gain!!!
As a local I do not recommend. I’m a firm believer in looking at reviews before going into a place to spend a nice evening and money. Came in on 4th of July weekend, around 530, place was not packed yet as their were plenty of open tables. We came due to the fact they were having live music and we wanted to eat before getting drinks and listening. We were sat and it took about 10 minutes for someone to even come get our drink order. Then another ten minutes to receive them. At this point we pondered if we should leave and go somewhere else for dinner, but decided to stay. We ended up ordering 2 appetizers and our meal. An hour and 15 minutes go by, no food. We see other tables receive their food who were sat down after us (they had a different waitress).
Our waitress— who seemed brand new to serving as she was VERY nervous and acted scared of her tables, she never once came over to check in with us or get us refills. We saw her walk back and forth a bunch of times past us. She brought out our food and we were already heated. We had to ask for the basics (napkins and silverware). She said she couldn’t find any more silverware (what!?!?) and we saw her walk to and from the kitchen, the bar, etc nonchalant. At this point we flagged down another server and asked about getting silverware, napkins and who was in charge. She ended up taking care of us, thankfully and taking money off the bill. In the meantime we are, but my friend never received her burger until we were done with ours, as our original waitress brought it out and literally just said “sorry”, and at that point she realized the other server took care of us. We ended up leaving and not even eating it S it came out with pink in the middle and she asked for it well done.
Anyways, my boyfriend and I ate the food, it was good, but not with the high price. Menu online does not match what menus they give you.
I will never come here again. It was just too chaotic, slow/poor service and prices were to high for the quality of the food.
Shout out to the other waitress, who was VERY professional and friendly. Idk your name but you deserve to use your skills...
Read moreAwesome logo. Small menu with standard pub food. Located on a main road with a lot of foot traffic. Sounded like a fairly safe bet — or so we thought. When we walked in, we were greeted by 4 very drunk patrons screaming the f-word. Ok, fine. Ignore it. It could happen at any pub. It was a 10 minute wait, so we gave our name to the hostess who was not so friendly. Ok, maybe it’s been a busy evening and she’s tired. The party of 5 behind us gave their name and were told 10 minutes. After a string of curses from one of the 4 very drunk people, one of the women in the party of 5 turned to us and asked if we had been here before. We said no and exchanged concerned glances. After another outburst of foul language, I was sure the bartender or manager would say something to the drunks, but nothing happened. The party of 5 said, “That’s it.” and walked out. When the hostess called for them to be seated, I told her they left because they were upset with all the foul language. She said, “It would’ve just been a few seconds longer.” Fast forward — we were seated in the dining room area away from the drunks, but the decor in that part of the restaurant is NOT that of a pub. The wall art is a mishmash of stuff you’d find on the walls of a dentist’s office in the early 90s — the only exception being 2 cool patent prints of brewing apparatus. The tables and chairs look like they came from grandma’s kitchen. This was not what I expected based on the decor in the bar — a huge mirrored wooden display of liquor, an old wooden ice box, and tin ceiling. We ordered our food, and the crowd in the dining room thinned out, but less chatter from customers only meant we could clearly hear the kitchen staff talking badly about the customers while laughing and cursing. At this point I was about to leave, but we had already ordered and I was starving. The food was fine, and my husband enjoyed the beer but the staff and the atmosphere completely ruined it. An owner or manager needs to step in and gain...
Read moreVisited here Friday night of Memorial Day weekend. This was our first place to go on our first visit to Watkins Glen, and had high hopes as the brewpub had a good amount of stars. In retrospect looking back at the reviews, it appears there was a time this place was praised but something changed (likely major staff turnover during covid). The service was great however there seems to be a problem with management, the kitchen, or likely both.
When we were seated we saw the menu did not remotely match that on their website. It was also bizarre that vegan food items were noted but not vegetarian, which caused a lot of confusion.
The beers were not well served either- the wee heavy tasted so buttery that it indicated the lines were likely not clean (more buttery than butterscotch as a wee heavy should be). Another beer that came out showed so many bubbles on the inside of the glass that it indicated the glass was not totally clean.
When the appetizer (loaded nachos) came out, they were barely warm and the nachos were a bit rubbery. The cheese sauce was watery and didn't taste like it had any cheese but powered cheese in it, and the menu said it came with sour cream but the white sauce was something else that resembled it.
The meals that came out were drastically different in size and fill between the burgers, flatbread, and Pico de Gallo bowl (the latter two being the most expensive). The flatbread was cold and soggy as if it has been previously frozen and barely reheated. The bowl was, for lack of a better term, embarrassing. Both were lacking in flavor, especially the bowl.
Overall the food was not only not worth the cost, but was not even worth half the cost. 3/10 do not recommend until management makes major changes- the 3 is only given because our server was very...
