This one pains me to say. They have gone way....w a y............W A Y down hill. This wasn't like this a year ago. I don't know if the restaurant has been sold and under new owners or if the tourist tax of Watkins has become to high. This used to be the place to go for Chinese food in Watkins. It was always hopping in there. Smiling faces , hard to get a table, the whole family would be working ( their kids would seat you). It was a wonderful place , not anymore. Last night was my worst experience. The service was okay. That is about where everything positive ends. The whole atmosphere was sad and felt as if they were closing the doors for good in a week. The beautiful stair case that led to their second floor was blocked and covered with dining chairs and small tables. No light music playing in the background ,just the sounds of the cook talking could be heard. My wife , 2 sons, and I were the only people there (7:10 on a Friday night). We were greeted at the table with a note on the wall that says push for service and a button next to it. As we looked around, the sushi bar is now closed, their alcohol bar is closed, and a lot of tables had personal items on them. It's no longer welcoming. The waitress was polite when we saw her. Since they no longer serve alcohol I got a sprite that was flatter than a high top hair cut from the 80s. I asked for another, and while she was in the kitchen getting me another one I could clearly hear a bottle being opened and poured into my glass. THAT'S HOW QUIET IT WAS IN THERE lol. We ordered and our food came fairly quickly. The cook brought out each plate to us, one at a time. Thought that was different. Smaller portions, yet still tasted good. The only way I was able to get the waitress back was for me to push the button on the wall. We were the only people there....... I no longer find this to be the great House of Hong that it once was. I suggest ordering takeout and ovoiding...

I ordered takeout from this establishment tonight bc it stated that they were open until 10pm. We usually go to LUCKY STAR but they close at 9:30. If you don’t want to read a long and scathing review, just know that you should go to Lucky Star instead of here. I will starve first before I ever give this place another dime. The Togo order was placed at 9:17pm. I then received a message 5 minutes later that said that my order was being cancelled. I proceeded to call and the girl on the phone told me that yes, they were open and wouldn’t be closing until 10, that she had no idea why it was cancelled but she would have her manager call me back. So we sat and waited. Finally a man called that could barely speak English. He told me they were closed. I told him that the girl on the phone confirmed that they were open and that my husband was waiting out front where their “OPEN” sign was lit. He started muttering something about us coming in to order. “You order now?” I said I Ordered 20 minutes ago, how can I order if they’re closed, and that my card was charged and not refunded. He said he would have to call me back. We waited some more. Another guy called back and stated that my card could not be refunded on their end and that I’d have to call my CC company in order to dispute it. What?! My husband decided to go in to see what was going on. There was one guy yelling on a phone in another language and the kid behind the counter said that they would be able to refund my card tomorrow. NEVER AGAIN with this place. ⭐️GO TO LUCKY STAR ⭐️ We’ve never once had an issue and their food is...

We came for sushi and we’re informed that they did not have ANY sushi after we already had been given 2 lemonades. We took maybe 2 sips out of each beforehand and informed the waitress that we no longer wanted to dine due to them having no sushi. They said ok and we left. We walked half way down the street until they came running at us because they wanted us to pay $6 for 2 drinks that we didn’t even finish nor start to drink. We paid the ridiculous $6 for drinks we didn’t even consume and decided we will never go back to this place again. The customer service was horrible and they made us feel uncomfortable. They couldn’t understand anything we said and we were always having to repeat what we said. Horrible place, it is going downhill and I do not recommend this restaurant to anyone who is coming to Watkins Glen to have a nice visit. We ended up going to Lucky Star instead and they always...

They have a separate vegetarian menu which is a good thing because we are vegetarian and its difficult to find such restaurants having separate vegetarian menu. So kudos to them. We went for the safe bet and ordered vegetarian fried rice with noodle soup and vegetarian dumplings... dumplings were ok ok, i liked the fried rice and the soup. The schezuan sauce is not the typical one which you get at Chinese restaurant, it is similar to the one which is served with dumplings in some of the hotels, so beware of that. Overall if you are looking for vegetarian Chinese food, then definitely you can try this. They even have some complimentary food served similar to chips and salsa in Mexican restaurant.

I had a lovely dinner here with my family after visiting Watkins Glen State Park. The service was incredibly efficient, and it was nice that they were open late. The food was nothing special, but it was fine for a casual restaurant. We chose to have Chinese food, but there is a decent selection of Japanese food too. We ordered wanton soup, egg drop soup, spring rolls, hot tea, sweet and sour chicken, and beef chow mei fun. The building is somewhat run down though, and there were strange handwritten paper signs on the walls, hindering the ambiance slightly.
