Great place to bring the kids when they need to get rid of energy. Make sure you ask all the questions though, and if you're going to gift a day... don't.
I included some adventures for Christmas gifts for my kids to get us out of the house this year. I saw a great black Friday deal for gift cards, so I got two. Check. Down the road, there was great family day option.. 5 total passes, pizzas, snacks, treat, drinks, socks, whole day for $125. That would leave me leftover to even let them get something before going home, or an arcade game, etc. Check check! As a mom of three, I'm always looking for a way to save without losing out, and something that includes food that I dont have to plan is even better. My $200 in gift cards would pay for that, right? WRONG. Can't buy that offer in store, and you can't pay online with gift cards. Inconvenient. Fine. I priced out all the things out online and despite not having anything left over for extras, I'd use up $199 and change. Great. One and done. WRONG AGAIN.
Today, I brought my kids. It takes forever to get checked in, and to pay with gift cards they dont have a way of just using what's on it, so the poor girl had to search through a fat WAD of gift cards to find a similar total amount to give me as change. I ended up with a few $$ extra so I'm not complaining, but seems like quite an inefficient process. Anyway, I specifically ask at the counter if I can order and pay with the gift card at the food counter since I couldn't organize and pay for the day online with it. Yep! Was her response.

After playing a couple hours, it was time for lunch. I walked up to the counter to order, and present one of my gift cards to pay and guess what I'm told? Oh, you can't pay with that. Pardon me? Yeah, our system is down.
Okay. Down for an hour? Or what? It's just down. Okay, so is it not working today or is paying for food at UA, with an UA gift card never going to be an option here at UA?
Yeah, we don't take GC's for food.
Cool. So at each step of the way, this was nothing but inefficiency, teenagers and no adult management to deal with, and absolutely never a gift I will buy again. The food was $60. Not going to break my bank. But the fact that I pre-planned for this MONTHS AGO, had nothing but "can't do thats" from then until now, have $80 in gift cards that would and should have covered that, and a half-assed "oh yeah, it's down" waste of my time explanation instead of just saying I'm sorry, we don't take gift cards for food, beyond irritates me.
Did my kids love it? Of course. Did I love it for them? Also yes. Do we have left over on the card to come back one more time? Yes. Should we have? With clear advertising and communication? No.
Will we? I'm not wasting more of my money, so we will. It was an...
Read moreMy boyfriend and I spent 250 to bring each of our own 3 children here. We were hoping for a fun time. In the beginning things seemed okay. We left for lunch and came back. The VR was broken and there was only two headsets available to be used. While my son was in line the worker had left the area and left the children alone and another child cut in line I brought it to workers attention and he apologized and said he is not always in that area and has to leave sometimes, meaning their was no staff there at all. Our go cart experience was horrible with workers not checking seatbelts and the ride was starting we had to yell to the staff to help my autistic son because his seat belt was all mangled up. Most of the carts were not working properly and you would be left there not being able to move and would get no help unless we flagged another rider to tell a staff. One of the workers was putting cones on his head and laying down while the carts were running and was paying more attention to his phone multiple times then to what was happening. When we were in line we witnessed a staff member looking back to the other staff member laughing pushing the cart that was stuck with a child in it. While I was stuck on one of the times I was on the other worker was to busy and left the go cart area to go and talk to another coworker by the VR area. Multiple times people were stuck and not able to move their cart at all. We tried giving the the go carts multiple chances and it was a pretty bad experience every time. While the kids were in the climbing wall area there was one staff in there and she was being really rude while the kids asked how to hook and unhook their equipment. They were not shown how to do it and manager said there are signs posted, they don’t do justice because for safety kids should be shown and asking for help shouldn’t of resulted in her rude attitude, then an ambulance comes because another child got hurt later on same day and I’m sure it’s for the same reasons of having no direction or help from staff. We did not know that the zip lines and the rope course did not run the whole time and was not told that while purchasing tickets, or that certain attractions were not open and their was broken equipment. We spent a lot of money and just feel it was not worth what we paid. We tried brushing it off and trying different activities and giving it a chance because we did make the drive. The manager was basically calling us a liar and said my boyfriend was being aggressive when he wasn’t and kicked him out. He accused us of trying to get a free day out of the park when asking for a refund. We left part of the day and came back and our intentions were to stay until close but after witnessing what we did and with the staff and how...
Read moretl;dr = Spent $50 to get in and my kids stayed for less than an hour due to the overzealous safety nazi and not having fun.
My wife took my kids to the Appleton WI location around 3:30 yesterday. Almost instantly after paying my kids were getting whistles blown at them for what seemed to be very minor issues. I want to be unbiased in my comments because I'll be the first to admit, my girls aren't always well behaved and they do tend to break rules from time to time. That being said, my girls are 7 and 6 and spend A LOT of time together and my youngest is very introverted and not much into crowds or loud spaces. That being the case I know my older daughter would have stayed very close to her and played with her. They were apparently whistled at for jumping on the same square.... something that I would say is a fairly minor things considering my girls are both pretty petite. I understand there might be some liability issues I'm not aware of, but still this is only the beginning. Following this incident, they left to be in a bit more quiet area and found that no one was using the infant jump area. It is my understanding that no one was in there and another employee walked past several times without saying anything to my wife or kids. Apparently, another employee came through and kicked them out even though my youngest was the youngest one in there!! Granted toddler jumping area is for 5 and under, BUT if there had been a little in there I know my kids would have been respectful enough not to cause any issues and probably would have played very nicely with the little in that area. Either way I get that it may be an area they shouldn't go, but then why wasn't the 11 year old kicked out of that area when my kids were leaving?? Eventually, my wife and kids ended up leaving after only 45-60 mins. This is the second time that my family has gone to this location and both times have been an absolute mad house with an overwhelming number of kids running with little regard for any younger kids, etc. I get someone needs to enforce rules, but to be blowing whistles for such minor things so often completely takes the fun out of the place. Unfortunately, my kids have already said they do not want to go back because it's no fun. As a parent, I'm upset that I spent $50 to get in to stay such a short time and have my kids say they didn't have fun! I doubt I'll get refund or anything, but an apology/meaningful conversation with someone would be...
