Came here last night, it was about a quarter to 8 on a Sunday. They weren't busy, and I had over an hour before they closed. I walked in and stood there for about five minutes before the woman at the counter noticed me, at which point she didn't acknowledge me at all; she didn't greet me, or even look at me. She just grabbed silverware and started walking over to a table and assumed I'd follow her, which I didn't immediately because she didn't even beckon me to do so. Some guy near her gave me an annoyed look at and pointed at her to get me to follow. I got to the table and she asked what I wanted to drink, and didn't bring it to me until about 10 minutes later.
I figured, whatever. They probably were just burned out. But then I got a plate and started walking around looking at what they had... and nothing had been replenished. They had at least 30 different dishes out for people to eat, and of those maybe a dozen had anything left in them. They didn't even have any white rice. I made the best of it, and when I was done eating I walked over to the bathroom quick before paying and leaving. When I came back two of the staff were standing near my table arguing and pointing to my check, which I left there while I went to the bathroom. They must've thought I'd walked out. They then cleared the way for me as I got back to the table. I paid and left, and chose not to leave a tip. This is very rare for me.
Really disappointed; a lot of the reviews recommended this place so I was looking forward to it, but overall a terrible experience and I don't ever plan on coming back. The second star in my rating was for the food, because what was there was actually pretty good. Not enough to...
Read moreFirst....when I saw the restaurant, I thought it was closed, none of the outside neon was on, the street sign looked old and faded, only a small open sign was in one of the windows. Now I'm critical of restraints , I love Chinese food,I got there binging of the dinner rush on a Monday evening... At first there was oriental music coming from the kitchen, but it was turned off when the rush was in full swing, though it added to the atmosphere but oh well...They had 2 of the display buffet counters empty, like they could have put out more different food. The food itself was average nothing to brag about, I did not have the Mongolian grill.Altho they did have clams on the half shell and crawfish, which was ok, the grilled meats were all dry, The fruit was plentiful, they had 4 different soups, the bowls looked like coffee mugs. The service was great, quick to get you refills, and keep your table clear of empty dishes, and were varry plesent. They kepped the buffet stocked ,did not wait for anything.... Looked to be a small family run establishment , nothing wrong with that , usually they hold higher standards. I would rate them an 8/10 or 3/5 * Not bad but could be better. It's a good place to bring the whole family, the children that were there were well behaved , a good plus.... Maybe I'll go back for the Mongolian grill next time...????they are better than other buffets in Appleton,WI. My bill was $17.36 for one person ,for dinner. Not bad but average.... I'll go back to ware they prepare it for you ,fresh.....maybe I'm spoiled........
Read moreIt's not often I give 5 stars but this place totally deserves it. Decent food. And the staff were really lovely. They were super attentive when picking up plates and refilling drinks.
I've seen some other photos of this place with empty pans, to which I say that was possibly near the end of the night. Get here earlier if you want the best experience and the freshest food.
Lunch time was the best and so was the dinner. Big fan of the lemon chicken... Perfect. I also like that they offer a hibachi grill and it's at no extra cost. The prices are very reasonable and the atmosphere is great, nothing stereotypical of your average Chinese buffet.
The food here looks and tastes like they put some time into preparing it and have enjoyed visiting each time.
My only criticism or critique here would be the exterior during the day (when the neon lights aren't on) make the place look a bit run down. I went with my cousin and he commented on that to which I promised that the interior and food were top notch. He agreed.
The restrooms and toilets need a long with the doors and hallway need a decent upgrade or fixing. The bathroom seemed a bit dated.
Still a 5 ⭐ for me... Will...
