LR Nail is a huge salon and it REALLY matters which tech you get. Some, like Bella, are artists. She is talented, professional, and always does a fantastic job. I have always been very pleased with Bella’s work and am proud of my nails for weeks after. I highly recommend her.
Sometimes you don’t book the good technicians in time. Other techs, like Leo, are often hacks who should never be allowed near someone else’s hands again. I came in with long, gorgeous natural nails with UV Gel on top. (See before picture.) I wanted to remove the UV gel and get regular gel. Easy, right? Not for Leo! I asked him not to use the dremel drill bit on my natural nails, only on the gel, since I had been growing them out for a long time and didn’t want to damage them. He was very passive aggressive and insisted that he was only filing off the gel. I asked and checked in multiple times and he insisted he would not drill my actual nails. He actually ended up filing off so much of my natural nails that they were bending in half even with five coats of gel and had to be cut down to the quick. He also cut me multiple times and didn’t apologize, just gave me a dirty look when I flinched.
It’s been two days and the gel manicure is already cracked because of how thin and flexible my nails are. There’s no way this manicure will last more than a few days. What a huge waste of time and money.
I’m honestly devastated looking at my hands now. They are sore from where Leo filed off so much of my natural nail that it’s basically paper thin nail and raw skin. It will take many months for this damage to grow out and until then I will have painful, nubby nails. Such a horrible experience! Attaching one before photo (taken at a different salon, but that’s how my nails looked three weeks before this. This is my natural nail length and shape) and three after photos where you can see how short and thin my nails are now.
I understand that not everyone takes pride in their work. Fine! Do a job where you won’t injure someone and f up their appearance when you just phone it in.
I’ve had so many good experiences at this salon and really expected better. Not perfection, but, you know, decency? So my advice is, do your research when picking a tech at LR Nail, don’t trust that everyone is good (or...
Read moreWhat a wonderful facility with friendly and skilled nail technicians. I have gotten ANC for 8 years and never stray from my usual place in Queensbury, despite two moves, which has placed me over an hour from there now. I recently had a nail shatter and rip my actual nail right off to as short as can be. I did not have the time to go to my usual place to get it fixed. I tried one place in Albany, close by to here, and they rudely turned me away at the door. I understood but this was so upsetting to me. I then walked in to LR nails. They were so friendly and graciously willing to help. While I waited to be helped, I could not help but take note of the beautiful and clean facility. It’s definitely a place I would love to get my nails done regularly. The color options for gel and regular polish spanned anything I have ever seen, anywhere. I started looking at people’s final nails when they checked out and they were done so well, very beautiful. It’s the first time I have ever strongly considered moving my regular nail salon closer to where I live now. When they were able to, they sat down to fix my nail start to finish, doing an ANC base and gel color and coat over top, shape and color turning out to be a perfect match - which I was not expecting since I did not go back to my usual place. They treated me like any other regular, with kindness and compassion. I could not have been more grateful for their help and accommodation. When I go to cash out, they ended up saying no charge?! I could not even fathom this. Of course I owed them- I owed them my life. I left a $20 and they deserved far more than that.
I will definitely be returning. They do a fantastic job here and I would be lucky to return for a full ANC manicure and maybe a gel pedicure.
I highly recommend LR nails. Thank...
Read moreWould never recommend!!! I made appointment with Ivy at 2:30. At 3:00 I was seated with Evan for ANC mani. He LIGHTLY Filed my current ANC, then proceeded to put the acetone, cotton balls and foil on my fingertips. Approximately three minutes later, he removed the foil and acetone. Anyone who gets their nails done regularly knows That is not enough time to loosen ANC. Evan then began standing the ANMC off my nails with a sander, removing ANC on my nails. Drilling with such pressure he was burning through my nails to my nails bed! At one point, the pain was so intense I had to pull my hand away and hold back the tears! He then proceeded to VERY aggressively file the rest of the ANC off! He then asked me if I wanted my nails, clipped or trimmed. I simply stated I like the length just rounded, please. He then repeatedly very angrily waved the nail clippers and nail file in front of my face asking which one to use at that point the pain in my hand was so intense from the burning of the file in the drill That I could not take it anymore Remove the foil off my opposite arm and said I needed to leave without making a scene. Evan then started yelling with the owner that I just was not answering if he wanted to clip or file when that was not the situation at all I just left and then called to speak to the owner to explain what had happened, which was absolutely useless. The owner said that that’s the way they do it And was not apologetic at all for his employees actions I informed him that I would not be returning and I would write a review Since I was unable to convey my concerns to him. So recommendation don’t ever go there and if you have to,...
