I had a friend show me her headshots last night. She used a different photographer. WHAT A DIFFERENCE ELLEN MADE!

--My friend said she had no direction. Ellen gave me clear direction. I'm sure there are people who love the camera, but I am camera shy. When it's on me, poses are the last thing I'm thinking of. Ellen's direction was specific and encouraging. She told me jokes to help me relax. Her props were very useful.

--My friend looked serious in every headshot. She's in the healing arts. She looked standoffish. Ellen is discerning. She thinks about what message you should send depending on your field. She knew how the COVID working-from-home culture was affecting the kind of headshots clients are responding to. From the very first phone call I had with her, she gave me advice about what would draw my clients to me. This helped me plan my wardrobe options. Ellen put thought into the kind of mood my backdrop would create--experimenting with something fun. I felt like I was allowed to be me--in a headshot for business. Didn't think it was possible.

I didn't know it could be so easy!! Before I went, I worried it would take a lot of work to get one good headshot. When I left, I felt confident I had many choices.

I think every person should do this once in their life just to feel amazing. And use Ellen :-)

I'd like to recommend Randi Ellen as well, the makeup artist Ellen recommends. There's no way I could have looked that good if I did my makeup myself. Worth every penny.

P.S.--Make sure your clothes are well ironed/steamed. It turned out not to be a problem for me, but...

Can't say enough about working with Ellen!

She was very clear about expectations from the beginning. When we first set up the appointment, she explained when to arrive, what to bring, and made sure I was well-prepared.

When I first got there, she actually had a welcome sign on the front door for me, which added a nice personal touch. For all the photos we took, Ellen really took her time and made sure they were perfect. She took a whole bunch of shots, all in different poses/locations, just about every nuance you can imagine to make sure everything was spot-on. We looked through every single one together to pick the finalists.

Through the whole experience, Ellen was a lot of fun to talk to and hang out with, which made for a fun afternoon all the way around. Sometimes service-based businesses like this are guilty of rushing you to cram in as many clients as possible, but not Ellen - she took her time and made me feel very welcome and comfortable the whole time.
