Garden City Barber Shop — Attraction in Town of Hempstead

If you have ever watched the movie Fury with Brad Pitt, Jon Bernthal, Shia LaBeouf etc. I have a similar hairstyle to Brad Pitt. Short sides - Long on the top. I went in yesterday after work and I asked just to only trim the top. The barber stated “ya ya I can do it” but then stated he can’t cut my hair without washing it first. I should’ve ran out the door then. All you had to do was wet it with a bottle and trim the top. I also didn’t know they charge more if they wash your hair so be cautious. The top of my hair came out so uneven, he continued to cut shorter than what I asked and only focused on one side of my hair. At first the barber who cut my hair said $25. The owner Greg corrected him saying $35. I was not even in there for 25 minutes. I think they’re overpriced for the service they give and lack of detail. I knew I was getting ripped off on the price but sometimes it’s not even worth it. I had to go elsewhere for them to fix it and they even commented by how poor of a cut he did. I’d be weary...

Had my hair cut here twice. First time was good. Second time was the owner, now I won't go back. All attachments were not clean to start, the whole workstation was dirty. Then during the cut he is literally staring out the window for almost ten seconds straight while using clippers on my hair. I told him the length i wanted on my beard and my goatee, because i was just getting a trim. I could feel when he used an attachment that was the same on both spots. I said something and he said "yes yes, i know what you want." Then when telling me the price, he obviously misquoted the price sign right behind him, plus charged me for a wash which i never asked for. If it was just one of the above, i wouldn't say anything here. If it was two of them, i just wouldn't go back. But all of this? You get a review, especially after i mentioned the price was...

We walked into Gregory’s barber shop on a whim and we have never stopped coming. He and his colleagues have done haircuts for my son and daughter. On top of giving amazing haircuts, Gregory really takes the time to get to know his customers and always remembers us! It feels like going to an old school place where everyone knows your name and is happy you came!
