I was having a hard time finding a Lilly item and searching the internet I found the item at this store. Since I'm from Michigan I would need to order online. Before I ordered I checked their return policy. I also saw that it was most likely a family owned business and the return policy would be more restrictive which is usually the case with small businesses (especially with clothing since seasonal). I purchased the item and therefore accepted their return policy.
My interactions with the store were fantastic! Item was sent out quickly and well packaged. I then needed to return the item. I knew the policy and what to expect. I followed the instructions and received the gift card quickly. I used the gift card to purchase another item and that arrived quickly. I contacted them a few times because I gave them a wrong email; always responded quickly and were patient. But, we never had to discuss the return policy. I was impressed with the store and now check their website on a regular basis.
Checking the site today I saw the Google Reviews and this store should be a 5.0! I read the reviews and the negative ones are about the return policy. People that can't take responsibility for their inability to read and/or follow instructions.
With all the excuses....pandemic, injury, a return wasn't allowed but person did not say why return was not accepted, policy not flexible, out of town purchaser and only nine days late! The store might as well do away with their return policy! I follow the rules and wouldn't be too happy knowing they were making exceptions!
Sure, life things happen, but why should the store bear the brunt of the loss? I've missed return timeframes, it happens. Just donate the item to a charity. Then to leave nasty reviews knowing when purchasing the item they were also accepting the return policy.
With these unfair reviews and because the store uses the same consistent policy for everyone, I make it a point to support...
Read moreBUYER BEWARE!! RUDE TRICKY STORE horribly representing the Lily Pulitzer Brand. I purchased a $240 Polyester Lily Pulitzer pajama set, for my wife, on December 23. I was dealing with the owner Carol, and they only had the pajama bottoms in a “small” size. I wanted a medium and was told, BY THE OWNER, to come back after Christmas and they would have “mediums”. I WAS NEVER TOLD THAT MY HIGH REGULAR-PRICED PAJAMAS NEEDED TO BE RETURNED BY JANUARY 12th or else there were NO EXCHANGES ALLOWED!!! I was conned !! Needless to say after going away after New Years and giving them more time to get the right size in stock, my wife went to exchange, just exchange!!, the product for the right size on January 20th and she was rudely told by the owner, “NO AND THERE ARE NO EXCEPTIONS!!” Her defense was that this little horrible store had a “policy” and that they weren’t a Lily Pulitzer Corporate store, so they had the ability to treat my wife like some sort of riff-raff. I HAVE PURCHASED OVER $3,000 OVER THE YEARS AT THIS STORE!!! Judging by all of these other reviews of the store, they have a horrible reputation for being rude and conning customers. I don’t expect any comment from this store as they seem to think that in today’s day and age reviews mean nothing. PLEASE READ THE REVIEWS BEFORE BUYING IN THIS STORE!! I WILL ADVISE LILLY PULITZER THAT THIS STORE IS A POOR REPRESENTATION OF THEIR BRAND AND I WILL ADVISE ALL OF MY SUBSTANTIAL NETWORK OF FRIENDS AND FAMILY TO SPREAD THE WORD AND STAY CLEAR OF THIS ANNOYING...
Read moreMy wonderful daughter went to The Islands in Garden City to buy me a Christmas gift. She works part time while in high school and parted with $48.00+tx to buy me a beautiful cosmetics bag. The only problem was that I had the same one. When I went to exchange the gift, I was told that I waited too long and that they can’t do anything. I had no idea that had such a restrictive return policy. When I pushed to speak to a manager, they offered to give me half credit of $24.00. The upsetting part is that the manager wouldn’t even come out to speak to me, even though I asked to speak to her. I buy a lot from Lilly Pulitzer’s web site and this store might have been a new place for me to shop. They not only lost what could have been a new customer, but they made my daughter feel bad. My daughter decided that she didn’t want to lose half her money and told me to keep the bag. She had to work 5 hours to buy me this bag. The funny part is that if they had given me the full price as credit, I probably would have spent 4 times that much as I spotted a tote bag I liked. Do not shop at this store if you return items or want flexibility. I suggest using Lilly’s website. They are super nice at customer service and the returns are very easy and they give you your money back. They also have many specials and give you gifts when you spend money on their items, which is how I got my first $48.00 cosmetics...
