By far the worse pastries I have ever gotten at a cafe and to start off, the cashier wasnât very nice and appeared to have an unwelcoming demeanor which is usually the case so I didnât really mind it much. I typically order a pastry from the cafe next to this one called âThe French Workshopâ named Cream Bougatsa since their stuff is usually pretty good. Its usually almost already sold out by the time Im ready to purchase it from their store which is understandable because its by far some of the most addictive snacks to get there. Unfortunately this time around, I didnât get there in time before the pastry was sold out so I decided to try out the one at Four Five CoffeeâBIGGEST MISTAKE EVER
It tasted like what Iâd imagine a moldy swiffer sweeper mop thats been sitting in an old basement for decades would taste like if I took a bite of it.. I couldnât even finish this without wanting to puke despite it being so overpriced. It was super stale just like last time but far worse. I came here to makd another purchase because regardless og my last experience I always make sure to try something twice before applying judgement because I believe everyone deserves a second chance and this last visit only solidified my opinion from before sadlyâŠ
I am truly convinced people donât actually go to this store for quality but because theyâre naive enough to believe paying more = better service and that is simply NOT the case with this cafeâŠ
I am really disappointed because I settled with such an outrageous price and unkind person just to end up throwing my purchase away in the end anyways..
Not only is the cream bougatsa nearly double the price but its also significantly worse in quality and flavor. I couldnât even finish it and it costed me $10, whereas the french workshop cream bougatsa only costed me $6 which is odd to me because I recalled going to for five coffee for a cream bougasta in the past for the same reasons (it was still mediocre but way cheaper and this was just a couple months prior). I knew to expect it not to match up to The French Workshop but I didnât expect it somehow taste worse than the last time AND more expensive? I will just consider this a lesson when looking for alternatives I guess.. I will NEVER step foot in this place ever again even if its for something simple like a beverage. After all, thereâs already enough cafeâs within walking that blows this one completely out of the water.
Lastly, I have gotten weird looks from people here in the past already I am not sure if these people donât enjoy working here or something else but that just goes to show its not worth a customers time to ever bother visiting.
The fact that im leaving a review and I rarely ever do that should say a lot
I REGRET NOT DEMANDING A REFUND SO HERES THIS...

Despite the many coffee options, I keep my coffee simple, I ordered a traditional drip with cream, and my cup was delivered full enough to touch the brim, no room to add sugar and searing hot! So yes, you definitely get your moneyâs worth in the $3.00 cup, but they charge a few cents for cream. I wasnât bothered though, this coffee was so full of rich flavor, I would have gladly paid more. Check the shelf near the restroom for a variety of full bean house blends for purchase.
If you are as hungry as a hostage, I recommend you order the Country Style Breakfast Plate. It includes scrambled eggs, sautéed mushrooms, seared tomatoes, sliced avocado (a half of an avocado) , three slices of Canadian bacon, and two pieces of fried Halloumi Cheese. Now guys this is easily enough food for two, and if we are feeding children, three, so it is well worth the price point.
The avocado toast was beautiful, I observed it from another diner at the table, across from me. And while I donât enjoy poached eggs, these were nestled like a sleeping bird in a nest of lettuce, the presentation alone made me want to try them.
Yes, you will find a nice selection of cakes and pastries, I advise you to give them a try because they looked scrumptious and freshly baked.
I am not often on this side of New York, but when I am, I enjoy different spots, especially those with a nice cup of coffee, and this guys was a winner and worth the stop. And ladies, the restroom was clean, and well stocked despite being unisex which I am not fond of no matter where I am.
So if you find yourself in Garden City looking for a nice cup of coffee and something to eat, check out For Five Coffee, and donât forget to tell them Unnerved Traveler sent you!...
Read moreI came here on a busy day and the service was very disrespectful. The coffee shop was packed, and so I sat at the only available seat I saw after I ordered my coffee. Since it was going to take a while for my coffee and I hadnât eaten all day after taking medication, I started to eat a piece of bread that I had bought before I got to For Five. I had seen other people bring outside food or drink, so didnât think thereâd be an issue, particularly as I wasnât eating a full meal from outside. A woman named Temi came up to me and told me that I couldnât eat outside food, which I said OK to if that was their policy. She then told me that I couldnât sit there, and I couldnât sit in the coffee shop at all because it was only for people who ordered coffee. I had already ordered. I have also come here regularly and have seen people sit there multiple times. I was offended by her assumption that I was soliciting, particularly as I am a regular customer who consistently spends money at this establishment. When I told her I was a regular and she recognized me, she said âwell maybe I talked to you like that because I know you.â Nobody should be spoken to like that. Regular or not. In a packed coffee shop full of people sitting and waiting for their coffee, I felt targeted and treated unfairly. After reading the reviews further, Iâve noticed a trend of complaints for terrible service coming from other people of color, which is a shameful. After that encounter with Temi, I asked for a refund, left and went to the French Workshop down the street which had far superior service and more space. I would go there, or to their Manhasset location, which has better...
