Studio 137 Floral Park — Attraction in Town of Hempstead

We recently hosted my daughter’s eighth birthday party at Studio 137 and it was a wonderful experience from start to finish. The studio provided the perfect creative atmosphere for the kids, with plenty of fun decorations, materials, and guidance to let their imaginations run wild.

The activities were very well thought out and kept the children fully engaged. They started with a fun collage project, moved on to drawing and painting, and then had free time to experiment and create whatever they liked. Kis and her staff struck just the right balance between giving instruction and letting the kids explore on their own, which made each project feel personal and special.

What I loved most was how every child walked away with their own unique artwork—and a huge sense of pride in what they had made. The parents who attended also commented on how organized, calm, and joyful the whole experience felt (which is saying a lot for a room full of energetic...

I’m a junior photography BFA student at suny purchase and Studio 137 is a huge part of how I made it there. Studio 137 is an amazing hub for creativity no matter what you’re into. I’ve seen the studio when it was just starting up and recently I revisited. I was amazed by how much it’s grown in 3 years. The environment is welcoming, lively, organized and fun. I’ve participated in online sessions during covid, private sessions at my home, and creative days at the studio. All of them were super enjoyable yet challenging and helped me grow as an artist exponentially. Kis is an extremely knowledgeable artist and being able to learn from someone so experienced is a gift. My daughter has been taking lessons here was almost a year and it’s been amazing! She’s always loved art and we wanted somewhere where she could grow her skills, so having the one on one sessions has been really great. She gets to express herself but also learn about different techniques and which tools to use depending on what she’s drawing. She also gets to do a lot of fun crafts, like light-up ghosts for Halloween and personalized ornaments for Christmas! Kis is always extremely flexible with our ever changing schedule and always responds really quickly when we need to change something.
