Me and my husband went to this diner last night (Saturday, 3/4) and it was very cozy. We were warmly greeted by the owner (I think it was the owner), after that everything went down. The bench seat was not clean, so I took a napkin and wiped it off (no biggie), and the waiter, a guy with a ponytail (just a description), asks what we would like to drink. I say a sweet iced tea and he returns a minute later with an unsweetened iced tea. He says "oh yeah, we don't have unsweetened iced tea". Ok that's fine, strange he didn't mention this to me when I ordered it. My husband orders, and he asks him "would he prefer a soup or salad with his dinner", my husband asks "what soups do you have," he states "cream of chicken or some kind of chicken soup" (can't remember the name). My husband said "I'll take the cream of turkey soup, that sounds good." He comes back with the chicken soup! My husband starts to eat it, and when he comes back he says "this is good but it's not cream of turkey". The waiter is like "oh yeah, I could get you it!!" Then I ordered a cheeseburger deluxe but I didn't want the lettuce and tomatoes, I wanted pickles instead and of course the French fries. Yup.....it comes out with lettuce, tomatoes and onions!! I don't think he paid any attention to anything we ordered and it was like he really didn't care. The table behind us, he was warm and friendly with, but with us it was uninterested service. The other waiters I saw was very attentive, we wish we had them instead! Very disappointing. I would have said something to the owner when we paid our bill, but he was not there, when we check out....
Read moreI went inside today just to check out the menu. I ended up buying a chicken sandwich on the baguette. I asked a man if there were any options apart from the fries because of health reasons. The man responded, "We have coleslaw. Sweet potatoes, mashed, or any of those sorts we don't because we are not that type of diner." So, I told him I would just get the sandwich and a cup of coffee. As I waited for twenty minutes, a geriatric customer entered and sat next to me. The same man that attended me did not hesitate to provide him a cup of water, OJ (assuming that's a usual of his orders), and gave him the most friendlies of welcoming. Once I got my order, he gave me my sandwich with no coffee and charged me $13.95 for a meal that did not have its full order. What upsets me is the manner that I was attended and neglected as I sat there, while others are wined and dined. I should have not been charged full price for a sandwich that did not have its fries, and completely neglected the coffee that I requested. So, yes, I agree with my review and it reflects with my experience I had here. This is a terrible first impression for a new customer. I will not return, but will leave this for future new customers that decides to give this place a chance.
Btw: I do believe my appearance did play into this man's attitude. This may not be true, but it is a gut feeling of mine. I am a young bearded, Hispanic man. The majority of the men that go in are old, white, Italians. So, take that with a...
Read more555! What a satisfactory experience. My family and I came here on a whim for brunch and when I say this is the best diner I've ever been to, I sincerely 100% mean it with happy dance and all! I'm born and raised in New York honey and there isn't anything in this city compared to this slice of heaven!
Firstly, the coffee was fresh af— nicely brewed and no grounds at the end of the mug, my meal came with a free glass of fresh oj! I don't even like pulp but there something so pleasantly refreshing about it. Prices are VERY fair for the portions you get and even enjoyed every last bite of the left overs later on that day!
I say you MUST come here. Unlike other diners their menu is not overwhelming. Ambiance is nice and clean, personable staff, and you're definitely bound to leave with a...
