The Bladesman Knife and Sword Shop — Attraction in Town of Hempstead

I have used The Bladesman for years now. Larry has a wealth of information on various subjects and offers a level of service that is second to none. They have a huge inventory in store and if they don't have what you are looking for he will order it for you on the spot. I have used The Bladesman for all of my sharpening needs. Everything from kitchen knives, camping axes and hatchets, hunting knives, and EDC blades. Every time I leave with a perfect edge and satisfied with the cost and turn times. If you are a collector, they have a ton of swords and wall mounted items perfect for any man cave. They are conveniently located on Merrick Rd right off the Wantagh Parkway, I always stop in on my way home from work as they are open late and also available on weekends. My first time going here, and I'm very impressed. Geri, who is amicable and knowledgeable, greeted me like I was a regular and did not hesitate to help me with any questions I had about the knives, of which there were many varieties. I had a great time checking out knives from Spyderco, CIVIVI, Artisan Cutlery, ZT, and other brands that were on display. Being able to freely handle knives at this shop helped educate my opinions on certain knives which I had only researched about online; for example, I had watched a few disfavorable reviews of the Boker Kwaiken, but after Geri presented it to me to handle, I fell in love with its smooth action and perfect detent. I visited the Bladesman with my girlfriend to buy her a graduation present. We came all the way up from Philly to check out the Katana selection, and we were not disappointed! Geri, the store owner, was a huge help in selecting the right blade for us, a beautiful sword with an ornate bamboo illustration on the sheath.

Geri was also extremely friendly and let us try a few of the other swords, and was also extremely helpful in telling us how to clean and maintain the sword going forward.
