Have travelled past this place hundreds of times travelling the thruway, today we decided to stop. A very adorable place and very nice gift shop with neat products from nearby areas. The life sized munchkins kinda freaked us out a little and had no idea Frank Baum was from Chinnenago! The restaraunt had a nice menu and the food was very good at a very good price! Anytime I see greens on a menu in or around Utica I just have to try them, and they were very good here!! The staff were very inviting and pleasant in the gift shop and in the restaraunt. Read moreThe woman behind the counter made me and my family extremely uncomfortable, shut the lights and the store and register as soon as we started walking around looking to shop. Mind you they are not supposed to close until 6:00pm. Not to mention constantly saying "do you need some help?" In a very degrading way. She displayed racism at its finest with the way she was immediately uncomfortable as soon as we walked into the building. Beautiful jewelry, hand-crafted stain glass; Wizard of Oz memorabilia and souvenirs; local authors and their interest-grabbing tales of the Erie Canal, Adirondack Mts, and Central NY lore; and area businesses' paraphernalia, such as Utica Club, Remington Arms, and Herkimer Diamond Mine!
