I started yoga last summer to see if it could help me with increasing aches and stiffness and candidly had no idea what to expect other than I would be stretching. I found SBM through google reviews myself. Itâs not the closest studio to me but the reviews were excellent. Now approaching my sixth month, I find myself attending about 4 times a week. Firstly, the instructors are all simply lovely. They are passionate about yoga and the people that join them on the mat. I have experienced classes with 8 different instructors. They ALL are amazing people who each bring their own flavor to the sessions. They have the ability to lead classes consisting of people like me who are new to those who have been practicing for years and make it work really well. I am always amazed how fast the hour long sessions go! In addition to the instructors, the attendee community is made up of super-nice people across the age and gender spectrum. A really first class community!
As for the the studio itself-it has almost a unique resort like ambience. It is stand alone. It has vaulted ceilings and windows all around allowing for great light. Outside you see trees and from some parts of the studio, the Huntington marina.
Finally, what has it done for me? I could not be happier with the results, since joining SBM, my body feels so much more nimble with far fewer aches. I also find myself sleeping better. To that end, I have made going to SBM part of my regular routine. I will close by saying that I look forward to going to my classes and after the classes I...
Read moreI have been going to SOUND, Body & Mind Studio for almost two years. I have found it to be a soul-renewing process each time. The studio itself is stunning. It is airy and full of light and plants and everything shines and is beyond organized. There is everything you need for your practice if you donât bring your own equipment with youâmats and bolsters and blankets and blocks and more. The teachers have been phenomenal for me. I truly appreciate how kind and nurturing and welcoming they are and most times, they go out of their way to tuck in tips and ways to make a pose more challenging or more supportive. I also love the soundtracks they each create to accompany their session. Most sessions I have attended build in time to meditate at the end of the session. I leave feeling calmer, stronger, and more empowered to return to my life with new perspective and purpose. I highly recommend it for anyone considering an activity that will strengthen your physical, emotional and mental well-being. For anyone practicing yoga already, it is truly a very special place to continue your practice. I truly love it there and I hope everyone who wants to try it will feel as welcomed by the community as...
Read moreI waited decades to begin my experience with a yoga practice and needed to find the time in my day and also the perfect studio. I knew that once I found it, I would be committed. Never having practiced yoga on a regular basis before, I was a little bit intimidated by the idea. I walked into Sound Body and Mind for the first time in late January of 2023. I was met with the most gorgeous space, full of light and huge plants and windows. And I met the most welcoming and kind community. As I quickly fell into the moving meditation of each class and each instructor, I fell in love more and more with the practice, art and teachings of yoga. Now it's been 10 months and I find time to come in just about every day. It has healed me from the inside out. I can not say enough about Sound B & M. I feel so good and have found new connections with my body and my brain as I have formed connections with my fellow yogis and friends. Each and every instructor has something new to teach and guide, and every class is different and special. Thank you Adam you have created a safe, fun, challenging and nurturing...
