I love the Marlboro Nature Trail. I used to live out West where nature hikes could be found everywhere. Nowadays this is the best one hour hike within half an hour drive of where I live. It's kinda sad but I'm an optimist. It's a great little hike and a good workout climbing back up the hill. There's some history there too. On the Blue Trail you will find "Jew's Creek" which is a waterway that flows through the Gomez Millhouse. "Over 300 years old, it is the earliest known surviving Jewish dwelling in North America and the oldest home in Orange County listed on the National Register of Historic Places." (-Wikipedia)

Easy hike, around 1.10 miles if you do all the yellow, red and blue trails. Well maintained and marked trails. Good for any skill level, with a couple of steep areas. Good for kids, but probably not strollers or a wheelchair. Beautiful views along the way and a nice view of the marshland and river. Plenty of parking. We came during the week and it was not busy at all

Rustic post-industrial trail down to the Hudson. Late 1800 and early 1900 period foundation ruins with decades old trash and debris. Even a wooden wagon carcass secreted off trail for the keen observer. Interesting hike to see the transition to woodlands from what must have been a busy community. Bug spray is a must for warm days.

I was surprised how nice this trail is. Very easy hike. The trail leads down to creek views at a couple of different spots. At the two creeks point an osprey was perched in a tree on the other side of the water. Also spotted some black-capped chickadees and heard but didn’t see a number of different woodpeckers. A few spots on the...
