The Garage Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Town of Marlborough

Went there last night. All the tables inside had reserved signs on them. So we sat outside. No big deal. We ordered drinks and dinner. As other friends arrived, who had not made reservations, we noticed they were seated at the tables with the signs. The waitress told them they had put the signs up but since no one was sitting there, they could have the table. Still no biggie. Outside was nice. The problem arose when we got out checks. There were 3 of us. My husband and I on one check and our friend on her own. Our checks had a 20% large party fee charge on it, along with a "delivery" fee. We were upcharged over $15.00 in fees. What the heck. I hope the 20% was the tip because we didn't leave one. We were not allowed large party and since when do we get charged for food to be brought to our table? We always tip a min of 20%. I hope the waitress got the 20% instead of a greedy owner. Won't be eating or drinking...

Went in on a Monday night wasn't busy so that was nice. The waitress/bartender was pretty good but never offered anyone refills on their drinks, never cleared any plates and never offered desert. The food was cooked pretty good but not great. We Ordered a burger medium rare came out well done. Ordered cheese on fries didn't have it, but immediately brought the plate back in kitchen and added it. The guy who did the cooking was sloppy wearing a tank top and smoking in front of customers. It's not terrible but it's not great either. I personally won't be back but everyone should still try for themselves. Just because I wasn't thrilled and I expect certain things when I go out to eat, others might not care. I also still tipped 25.00 on an 84.00 check. It was a Monday night and slow, so I still wanted to make sure the bartender got a good tip. Good luck going forward. Marlboro needs a spot like...
