Hannoush Jewelers — Attraction in Town of Newburgh

Purchased an engagement ring and the perfect diamond for it. The staff was friendly and attentive during the purchase which was paid in full. The ring went in for repairs and they have been giving us the run around. They charged us for one of the smaller diamonds that fell out and the appraisal. We went to pick it up and the repairs were not complete, Not to mention there was a visible spot of yellow gold on the white gold engagement ring. We got no apology from any of the staff, instead one staff member acted as if we were bothering or expecting too much! We requested that the mistakes on the ring were corrected and she basically told us she didn’t know when they would be able to do it since all new repairs had to wait for the other repairs. We reminded her that it was not a new repair that it was an unfinished repair and we needed our ring finished ASAP. She basically told us she couldn’t tell us when it was gonna be done. We asked who inspected the ring before calling us to go pick up and very sarcastically said “not me” that’s all we got as an answer. The store closes at 9:00 pm and they called at 8:40 pm to tell us the repairs were done to go pick it up. We told the male staff who called that my fiancé was at work and I live an hour away that we would have to pick it up in the morning. He basically let out a little laugh! I must share that the staff and especially the Jeweler was wonderful! From my first step into the store I was greeted and had a great conversation with Doreen. She was so nice and personable and helped me with any questions I had. I went and had my engagement ring fixed because my stone fell out and my whole ring prong set needed a fixing ( which wasn't even bought from there). They still respected that I wanted a service there. Yes I know....they are there to make money , I get it but I just had a great feeling of trust and that was my biggest worry of all. I had a hard time deciding which place I can truly and honestly trust. My ring was not just going to any jeweler......so after I left I felt comfortable. After waiting 4 days, I went to pick it up....when I saw it I was so surprised on how perfect it looked. It looked brand new. They even did a rodium cleaning as a courtesy for which is usually an additional charge and I was SO GRATEFUL for that. When returning a watch to the store due to not keeping time, the store manager was very rude and indicated that I was calling him a liar because I disagreed that the information he was giving me was incorrect regarding an automatic watch. As it turned out after reading the manual, I was correct and he was just trying to get rid of me and actually asked that I not return to the store but rather I deal with watch company my myself. It's a shame that he represents Seiko but and he sold me the watch but was not willing to stand by his product. I have never had anyone call me a liar much less a retail store owner who was clearly trying to pull the bull over on me. I would not recommend this store simply on principal because if he is not honest then how do you know your are not getting ripped off. You can just tell when someone is not honest, especially when they try to tell you that it's normal to loose 16 seconds a day for...
