My engagement ring diamond has had to be tightened in the setting twice within 1 year, I don’t even wear it every day or during heavy activities like exercise/cleaning/cooking/etc. My wedding band was purchased in May 2021, didn’t marry/start wearing until Aug 2021, and I’ve noticed the diamonds have been shifting in the setting. Upon bringing in to have looked at and fixed, we were told that this kind of issue is from actually damaging the ring (he gave an example of running over or someone stepping on it). Again, I don’t wear my rings during any strenuous activities and I have a desk job, so this ring was clearly defective when purchased. First claimed it would have to be sent out and we’d have to pay for entire new setting ($250+) and then when I said forget it (why would I need an entire new setting with 7months of normal wear??), the jeweler looked at it and fixed to best of his ability in house, which we were told while it was happening that one of the prongs completely snapped off and he’s redoing and we should be thankful, and then proceeded to charge us $100! (How could a prong snap off from 7months of normal wear?? It can’t, I’m now learning this is a clear sign of a used ring that they are marketing as new)
I wish we had known more about jewelry prior to going here, our mistake for trusting them initially in purchasing anything there. I have told numerous friends and family members now, who have all assured me these are not normal issues to have with brand new rings, and that they were clearly low quality/defective when purchased.
My husband and I are now already worrying about having to get me a completely new engagement setting and wedding band with my stones elsewhere in the coming years, after being married for literally 7...
Read moreI made a few small purchases in the past at Diamond Center of NY in Westbury, which I would categorize as good encounters. However, my recent experience was less than positive and disheartening. I decided to purchase a big ticket item as a gift for a special person in my life. Robert reassured me that he and his brother would take care of me if I had any concerns and questions after my purchase. I returned 3 days as I noticed the quality of the diamonds were not as superior as they claimed it to be. My intent was to upgrade to a more luxurious item that I spotted, unfortunately I was met with hostility and denial. I was floored when Robert claimed he didn’t recall how much I spent on the item or even my purchase. To add insult to injury they provided an inflated number for the mandatory restocking fee and was unable to provide documentation to support. What was suppose to be a simple transaction with a trusted jeweler turned into a very frustrating experience as I wasted time, money and as for that special person… was insulted by the brothers. Terrible experience! They claim that they are known as one of the premium jewelers of the world, like many of their promises this is a false statement. If you’re contemplating on a reputable Jeweler with decent customer service, sells high quality diamonds without the inflated price…Diamond Center of NY in Westbury is not the...
Read moreThis is an updated review with my purchase on an engagement ring for my significant other . They sell very good diamonds and have a reputable background with the collection of diamonds they offer. However, their craftmanship is very poor. I purchased an engagement ring and tried to have it fixed after a minor accident from my fiancee and it kept having problems with the setting. We had to got 3 times and we kept having loose diamonds and other technicalities. The people seemed to not care for us as they received the funds and purchases from me, the consumer. To me this is very unprofessional and unwarranted. I had to fix the ring somewhere else. Do not go there for ring settings or anything significant for your future partner. They claimed they were professionals and can fix it, but diamonds kept falling off from the band and not the halo. Once again, they have no idea what they are doing and their craftmanship is lacking. Lastly, they have very bad customer and professional service. When you need 3 repairs in less than 2 months that is very pathetic to be...
