Exclusive stomping ground for sourcing all groceries, and fresh produce. Naturally, we don't have to look any further; with good reason. It's not just that the store is well stocked with all essentials, peripherals and occasionals (more about that in a bit), but is also neat & clean, with a daylight bright cheery vibe.
Even before "Marty" made his moves, shelves were well stocked, and we've been there at opening (6:00 am), peak, or closing (just shy of midnight). Of course, "Marty" has made an uptick in inventory availability. It's not just in-store restocking, but also vendor managed inventory that'stop notch. What stands out: Seasonally appropriate end-aisle stocks OTC medication and nutrition supplementa. Small batches of fruit and veggie salads they manage in vertical merchandizing cases., despite rapid turnover. Astounding selection of pickled olives, cheeses, dips Regular and organic produce, Nuts, granola mixes and dried fruits in right-sized packing. Dairy and non dairy products. Expanding pet section includes food, treat, supplies. Entire display classification is easy-to-locate and shopper friendly. On the few occasions we've had need to ask the restocking team about something, they've dropped the task at hand to help us home onto the right shelf. Perinnially relevant flowers, plants, balloons, greeting cards to facilitate social felicitation-care-concern (pic, their florists have made many a day for us). Widest selection of ales, American lagers, beers, hefeweizens, IPAs, Lagers, porters, stouts, flavored beverages (pic). On prem Starbucks (pic) for those who want a caffeine fix.
With 470+ free parking spaces; 14 self-checkouts and another 14 manned cash registers, there's hardly any occasion for bottlenecks.
What could be better: washroom maintenance for those who might have an in-shopping emergency (to be fair, patrons are the problem here, not upkeep).
Overall, the store has such a welcoming vibe, that we prefer to walk the isles, rather than opt for pickup or delivery; which are...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI do like shopping here when I'm traveling from Queens to Great Neck. They have products that may be hard to find in other stores. Checkout lines go quick. Produce Dept, looks great. I did have a bad experience not once. But, twice. I had picked up some grapes and my hand smelled liked insecticide. I asked someone else, they smelled it the scent on the frapes as well. So, I didn't buy them, literally, l just wanted to wash my hands. Stop & Shop, has a public bathroom. Several months later, I tried again and the insecticide smell wasn't present. I became paranoid. So, I bought the Strawberries instead. Stop & Shop has a Starbucks, conveniently located by the Bakery Dept. But, I must admit, they never make my favorite Frappes correctly. Also, there's never a line. So, why are they so slow?? I inquired one day, and was told, some of us know what we're doing, some shouldn't be working here. Then, after about 12mins of small talk and waiting, the Starbucks employee, handed me a Frappe, it was dreadful, tasted awful. I told the person right away, she knew exactly what she did wrong. She felt bad, apologized, made it again and it was perfect. I still never patronized this Starbucks again. Stop & Shop's prepacked fruit over priced and taste (not ripe) and quantity questionable. Competitors and other SS location have better deals. You're better off buying and cutting up your own fresh fruit. Too bad, the point of prepackaged, is convenience. Stop & Shop sells live Lobster, they usually have a few in the tank. Seafood section not the best. In addition, whenever I've gone during the day. Or, afternoon. No one is behind the counter. The few times someone has actually come from the back. Or, showed up in general, I had been waiting 15-20mins to ask a question. Or, get fish. I no longer bother with the counter at the Seafood Dept. But, I do look at the prepackaged seafood, sometimes you can get a good deal and it's still fresh enough to eat. Deli counter always staffed, busy and helpful. Keep in mind, I can only speak from my...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI travel pretty far to get to this Super Market, I really enjoyed the workers and products but recently Iāve notice a change. New races and new attitudes. On my most recent trip to this Stop & Shop, I experiences the most down graded, uncomfortable situation. As I conducted my usually picking up of item, I kept on noticing a man following me. At first I tried to ignore it, then I said (to myself) wait a minute this man works here and heās following me, as if Iām stealing. Annoyed, I continued shopping. When I got to the cash register, of choice. The same man was at the register packing the customer in front me grocery. I said ok, letās see, maybe heās just helpful? When my turn came the cashier rang up my first 2 items (2 birthday cake, one for my daughter and her friend, they have the same birthday) he bagged the cake then walk off. I then had to start bagging my own items. When the finish paying I went over to the man ((( Xavier grujalva, Manager))) and said āwhat happen, all of a sudden you stopped packing my grocery, why didnāt you help meā? He laughed, sarcastically and said āIām sorryā. I then walked off when I got outside I saw him at the pumpkin stand (outside, the building by the exit) looking at me and the items in my cart. I said no this canāt be happening, now beyond annoyed and upset. I left the cart went into to the store and confronted the manager. āI told him what he was doing was wrong and he should stop, Iām well aware of lost prevention and Iām not a thief and the way he followed me and made feel was uncomfortableā. He was annoyed and said sarcastically again āIām sorry you feel that wayā. I left the store feeling violated, and disrespectful. I will never, ever shop here again and I want everyone to know that this man/ manager also racially profiled me and the way I looked. I will seek further help with this...
