Of course, we came on a Monday, and they are closed. Im in a scooter, and the paths are nicely paved, so we decided to look around & peek in where we could. The whole place is neat and nicely landscaped with historic fauna. A gentleman who has lived there 30 yrs or more is the caretaker, and he cordially invited us to look around. He opened up the buildings and gave us a personal tour. It was fantastic! It seems my husband had some things in common with Harold, and invited him to look at his shop in the basement. There were so many interesting things to look at. If you're interested in Revolutionary War Sites or Masonic sites, please go here. You feel the awesomeness of knowing that George Washington spent time here, and so much history happened in this spot, that changed this country forever....
Read moreThe museum building dates back to 1850 and has a large collection of artifacts found at the house during historical renovations and Archaeological digs. The house itself dates back to the 1690s and is in great condition and is very well laid out. The Museum building is wheelchair accessible, the Dewint house itself has a small step up to get inside, and each of the two rooms currently on display have a step up. Highly reccomended...
Read moreThis is a place to see see some serious history. You can step on the same wood that George Washington walked on. The groundskeeper lives on property and is very friendly and has good stories. And the document collection. Priceless.
