Very sad that this theatre is closing. Been loyal patrons with my family over 20 years- see 2 movies a week. Truly dislike to end with a negative review. They have experienced short comings within the last several months. First off our last movie day was just awful. The assistant Manager Paul, is quite rude, sarcastic and condescending- appears he knows everything. Our theatre had zero heat ( Temperature outside was 30 degrees and his response was that I am the only one that ever complains about the heat and all the theatre are very warm. He started to argue and belittle me. I reminded him that my family got sick weeks ago. Theatre was like a wind tunnel- drafty. Suggested we use a blanket. I asked him to take the time to check out the auditorium, but appeared he didn’t want to walk down 70 stairs and up 70 stairs. The escalators haven’t worked in over 3 months. Many customers were middle age and sat wearing their coats and hats. Others went to customer service to complain as well. The theatre never warmed up- seems like perhaps they tried after several unhappy patrons addressed the heating issue. Gather heating system is broken and/ or malfunctioning in some auditoriums. The Head Manager Michelle is very professional and efficient, unfortunately she was not working today. The lower level Mens bathroom always has a terrible stench - like a sewage backup. Fond memories at Hicksville- just extremely disappointed that our last day was not happily memorable. Concession and clean up staff are always nice, friendly & respectful....
Read morei haven't been here since the midnight release of Star Wars Episode 1. of course, back then is was known as Broadway Multiplex Cinemas. i think. the very last time i was here, Star Wars Episode 3, again, the midnight showtime on its release day. anyway, the only reason i visited was the fact that Brooklyn, for some reason, is considered New York City & cinemas are not allowed to re-open. who knew when people say "iam going to the city" they mean Brooklyn.... anyway, the staff, for 1, were very patient & welcoming. i mean they were in lock down for past 8 months. 2, i love what they did to the place. i have been to Showcase Cinemas in Brooklyn where they don't have reclining seats, so this was a big & welcoming & very comfortable surprise. 3, it was wonderful seeing films in cinemas again. wonderful going to cinemas again, even if it means trekking to Hicksville. besides the extraordinary care the staff took in cleaning after each feature & the fact i was the only patron in the 2 films i saw, it was a most wonderful experience. yes, i will do it again until cinemas re-open where iam or the other two cinema chains in LongIsland have better 1st daily showtimes. it would absolutely a plus if Showcase had earlier showtimes. 11:30 AM...
Read moreTHIS IS THE WORST THEATRE EVER. TAKE IT FROM SOMEONE WHO HAS BEEN HERE NUMEROUS TIMES. You will get ripped off completely, especially if you happen to misplace your ticket and you need to ask which auditorium you're in, they will not tell you. They will think you are trying to steal seats. Even if you keep your receipt, they still will NOT make an exception, which is the reason why I said they can rip you off. Also, their other policies are terrible. They have a new seasting arrangement, similar to a baseball stadium. If you're not in your "ASSIGNED" seat, let's say #D-2, and you move to #D-5, it's a hassel for EVERYBODY. When they ask students for ID, they tend to do that AFTER you pay for the movie. Therefore, if you're under 17, you will have to turn back and either ask to see another movie or TRY to receive your money back. I am telling you right now, DO NOT go to this movie theatre. For years, I, as well as other people, both teenagers and adults, have had awful...
