Read moreI was so excited to try this place as I am a seafood fanatic, but it turns out... it wasnt what I expected. The ambience and decor is nice and the staff was friendly, but I was disappointed with the food. They serve a complimentary basket of something they call crab chips... the pieces come in different colors and has a consistency like funyons sprinkled with ole bay. They were stale with no crunch at all, the soft drinks served come in a kids size cup...its pretty much done in 3 sips. Ok for the grand finale...I ordered, king crab, black shell mussels, and shrimp...it came with potatoes and corn and I chose the garlic butter sauce which fell short. It was clarified butter that lacked flavor, thickness and the fresh garlic wasnt even cooked... it was crunchy. I asked my server for some hot sauce and I was given what they use to spice up your catch which was basically an oil with ghost pepper heat... I settled for tobasco sauce which gave the meal some flavor. Aside from this.... the seafood was fresh with the exception of the mussels...I could tell they were sitting for awhile. The overall service was good and Victoria the manager was interested in knowing how patrons were enjoying their meals. I'll probably give this place another try, but as of now it's at the bottom of my list of similar restaurants.
6/9/21 Ok..so I said I would give this restaurant another try. I dined here this Wednesday evening..at the Valley Stream location, and I ordered the Seafood Spaghetti Marinara..and the dish came up short. It consisted of shrimp, and mussels over a bed of spaghetti in marinara sauce. The sauce was tasty, pasta al dente, but the seafood was frozen seafood...I could tell the shrimp served... was that cooked shrimp that comes out of a bag, and the mussels was pre-cooked also..probably made earlier in the day, and just sitting around until needed. I dont think this restaurant will last , there was no love in the preparation of this dish or the prior meal I had on my initial experience. I've reached my conclusion on this restaurant...it's still at the...
Read moreThis is an interesting place, there are actually two restaurants in one, and I'll be leaving the same review for both restaurants, just because you can order both during your stay.
I've been here about four times and a review is way overdue.
So who thought of combining Cajun seafood and Japanese ramen into one restaurant? I'm not sure if it's owned by the same franchise, I'm not sure what they were going for, but I love the idea.
If you're not sure what to eat, or you have a feeling to explore your taste buds, I suggest this place. Practically everything on the menu is delicious and in my case that my wife wanted some spicy seafood boil in a bag and I wanted ramen, it couldn't be a better decision.
I didn't mind that she took a sip of my Tonkotsu Ramen while I scarfed down a few of her shrimp and crawfish, and regrettably I always forget to order the Taco sushi, I heard they are pretty awesome, so I'll make sure to update my review when I finally try them out.
Keep in mind the menu is extnsive, but in a good way, they have categories that are widely different from one another, but once you get into a category they break down the options well. I say they have 3 main categories, cajun seafood, Ramen and Sushi, then you have a sub category of appetizers.
The decor on both sides are top notch, you are exposed to two different themes that again will baffle you on how this was ever conceived. Love it, I will go a fifth and sixth time!
Prices are decent, parking is available, the staff and host are wonderful and the location is clean and accommodating. The restaurant has two entrances, an outside entrance and one that leads into the mall, so if you come during lunch, you can just jump in and enjoy the rest...
