Wow, so where to begin?🕊️🙏💙🔥📖

Sister Johnson provided me with a remarkable tour of this historic site of the Church of Jesus of Christ of Latter Day Saints. She harnessed the power of the Holy Ghost to take me back in time and feel physical and spiritual CHILLS triggered by the monumental work that took place in this hallowed building! 🧱🕊️🔥💪📚

In the 1830s, dozens of people dedicated to the Lord (or at least to the completion of honest and highly challenging work) completed the unimaginable task of printing and binding the first 5,000 copies of the Book of Morman, the literal Words of Jesus Christ and a true supplement to the Holy Bible! 📖🕊️🔥✅

During the process, attention to detail was critical! There was no "un-do" button available in the production of these books. The brilliant people who created these books, empowered by the Holy Ghost, had to labor meticulously to ensure that their production was error-free. Once created, the Book of Morman stood out on the bookshelf like the glorious sun among the clouds!☁️🌞☁️ While every book sold in the store was paperback, the Book of Morman was the only volume beyond the Bible with a hard cover! 🕊️📔🔥

The Book of Morman was expensive in 1830 - it cost the consumer $1.25, which was the equivalent of 2 days of labor. But many purchased the Book of Morman, and they were absolutely blown away by it's power and truth, and they shared their copy with friends and family with joy and excitement, and it was at that point that the one and only True Church of Jesus Christ would begin to spread across the Earth! 🌎🙏🕊️🔥✅

I don't want to give everything away, but the museum is further endowed with wonderful paintings and artifacts from this vibrant spiritual revolution! Please don't miss out on an opportunity to walk back in time to one of the most historically significant acts in the history of the universe! What a PRIVILEGE to have something so remarkable in our backyard! Even someone from secular society could appreciate the gravity of the work and effort that took place here nearly 200 years ago.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is - WITHOUT A SINGLE SHRED OF DOUBT - true. And I'd like to thank the Church for buying this site, rehabilitating it, and maintaining it in the impressive state that it exists in today! And I would finally like to DEEPLY thank all of the Senior Missionaries who FREELY dedicate YEARS of their life to provide a magical and holy experience at these sacred historical sites. God Bless you...

The Book of Mormon printing shop is probably my favorite LDS historic site. It is three stories and has many missionaries who guide tour groups through the chronological events in the history of the publication of the Book of Mormon. The tour is overall about 20 to 30 minutes and will lead you through various very clean and professional exhibits.

I was very surprised at the several pieces of original art that was kept inside the building, inclusing the most popular and well known paintings of Joseph Smith and Angel Moroni in his room, Moroni burying the Golden Plates, and some paintings of Jesus. These are beautiful paintings which are very large and were a very pleasant surprise to me.

This site also has an original 1830 copy of the Book of Mormon preserved in excellent condition at the end of the tour in a case. There are only a couple hundred left in tge wild, and fewer than that in the church's possession.

Overall I highly recomment this site, evem above the others, for those interested in...

Visiting the Book of Mormon Printing Site in Palmyra, New York, is like stepping back in time to witness history being made. This is where the first copies of the Book of Mormon were printed in 1830, and as a convert to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, walking through these rooms was deeply moving. Seeing the original press, the typesetting equipment, and the painstaking process used to bring forth the Book of Mormon gave me a whole new appreciation for the sacrifices and effort involved.

The guided tours are excellent—missionaries share fascinating historical details and powerful spiritual insights that make the experience unforgettable. Every creaky wooden floorboard, every piece of preserved equipment, and every story told reminds you that this was no ordinary printing job—it was the work of bringing forth sacred scripture that would change millions of lives, mine included.

Surprisingly informative and well-done visitors center in such a quiet town. The historic site features restoration of the E.B. Grandin business which printed the first 4,000 copies of the Book of Mormon and helped launch the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. This facility is operated by the church and offers free guided tours hosted by missionaries. The tour includes an interesting explanation of the bookmaking and binding process available during the 1800s and includes many interactive displays. Unless you go into the building you would never know what's inside. Highly recommend a visit and the free informational tour. The tour may be a bit long for smaller children but there's Marks Pizza across the street and Port Palmyra off the Erie Canal just a few minute walk just behind the building in Palmyra's historic canal district.

This is primarily a religious site for members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church or Mormons) in addition to being a fascinating historic site. This is the printing press where the Book of Mormon was first printed. Because of the religious significance, the LDS Church has restored the building with meticulous detail. The guides will be talking at length about the religious significance of the place, but they also spend a lot of time talking about the printing process. They regularly host non-LDS visitors and are gracious and respectful. As a Mormon, I enjoyed it greatly and interesting to see the printing process and a 19th century printing business.
