Very beautiful scenery and weather at the time I was there. I was here for a memorial service for a close person to me who passed away, she was like a second mother. So that being said this place is great for memorial services and ironically, there was a wedding going on a few hundred feet to the southern part of the lake as we were at the memorial service. The beauty and the sadness together is something that makes you wonder and hopefully want to learn more, also a different time I was here a few years ago a natural phenomenon happened I guess you could say happened here. I'll try to keep it simple even though it wasn't a simple experience. Let me explain what happened, basically a thick white most swirling about the size of the circumference of the whole lake started to appear and gradually Rose and got stronger and taller to the point of where I became terrified and got on my knees begging for forgiveness.. it was almost as if a hurricane was starting to form in the lake, but the size of the whole lake and who knows how many hundreds of feet tall. I will never forget that day I almost wish as if I could experience it again. It went away after a few minutes and well everything was normal again. I did not imagine it, this was real. Don't go here expected something crazy or unusual to happen, just know it is a...

This is a review for the bike/inline skate equipment rental.

5 stars for the owner. 0 stars for the employees. 3 stars overall.

We rented two bicycles. At the end of the trail, one of the bike had a flat tire. We had to walk back 3 miles in 95 degree weather.

When we came back, we asked Peter for a partial refund. He refused, stating "we don't do refunds." He and another employee were completely uncooperative and not understanding. So I asked for owner's number and called him. His name was Dave and he was very accomodating and he agreed to give us FULL refund vs. partial.

When I mentioned to Peter that he should give a briefing to the customers to cover contingencies such as this, he said "I am not going to do that to every single one."

Maybe these two teenagers are so used to earning their wages by sitting down all day playing with their phones (which they were, when I checked out and returned the bikes), but for God's sakes, I didn't ask them to be a decent human being. They at least should do their job they are getting paid to do. If they don't want to do the oral briefings to everyone, then they give...

Absolutely great place! the trail on the Liverpool side is about 3miles long and is paved! Separate tracks for skating/biking and another for pedestrians/pets. The number of benches along the track has increased, and thus whenever one is tired tgere is place to rest. There are restrooms along the way. Air quality is great, and people are respectful. The park is clean and very well maintained. There are is a bike rental place, and nice children playground. The park is also pet friendly. You may walk along the track or, just sit on one of the many benches along the shore and enjoy the quite lakeside. One of the best places in/around central newyork. not a place to be missed in the summer, and neither would you like to miss the Lights on the Lake in the winter… abdolutely mesmerising, and totally worth the ($10 admission charges)… during summer admission and parking is free…. the park is extremely safe, late into the evening/night… family and pet friendly and a must visit if you are around...

Onondaga Lake Park is a gem in Syracuse. There's activities and areas for all ages and interests. There's a playground for kids. A skatepark. A dog park. Kayaks and bikes can be rented for those without equipment, even unique bike-carts for a different experience. There's docks if you prefer to bring your own boat. Plenty of places to fish (though there are limits on what's safe to consume). The trail almost completely loops the lake, and is completely paved making it an excellent place to bike and skate. Some of the best views of Syracuse can be seen from the West Lake Trail, which is one of the best birdwatching sites in the region, as the lake is an important migratory stop for many different species of birds. No matter what your interest is, it's hard to have a bad day at Onondaga Lake Park.

Lovely park offering some great views of the lake. Large parking lot with tons of spaces. There may be an entrance fee during the peak season ($8 or so) but there was no fee when I visited there in late September. I noticed some people fishing there, but I am not sure of the permit requirements. There is a large ane well-kept children play area there as well. The park also features a skate park, shuffleboard court, bocce ball court and volleyball court. If you walk further north along the lakeside, there is a marina there. Lots of trails and paths for walking, jogging, running or biking. You can also rent bikes, skates and quad-bikes there as well. I would love to return when the leaves change colors later on in the fall...
