[Updated after 2nd visit]

I believe I've found my favorite Thai food after trying many different places :)

  1. Atmosphere + Inside The lighting is dim, which I like. There are many seating options for pairs, groups of four, or more. I also liked the decorations inside, which made me feel as if I were in Thailand. The staff are nice as well.

  2. Food This is obviously the most important factor. I tried 'Pad Gar Pow,' which comes with a choice of protein (including tofu, chicken, pork, beef, squid, shrimp, duck, fish, seafood, and scallops) served with fresh garlic, onion, pepper, bamboo, and sweet basil. The rice served is jasmine rice, not fried. I chose pork. Additionally, there was an option for spice level: medium and hot. I chose hot because I enjoy spicy foods. It was really great—lots of toppings, great sauce, and spicy enough to enjoy. If you're not comfortable with spicy foods, I would recommend going for medium or mild (if available).

During my second visit, I tried the pork noodle soup to see if this place was also great for noodles. Indeed, I really loved it. The reason I haven't enjoyed similar dishes at other Asian restaurants in Syracuse is that they are either too sweet or too salty. However, the balance here was perfect, meaning it was neither too salty nor too sweet. Especially, I really liked the combination of pork with the Sriracha sauce:) Plus, the amount of pork ribs and wontons was sufficient to leave me satisfied.

  1. Outside Since it is close to Onondaga Lake Park, it seems like a good place to grab a bite after a walk in the park. There is parking space right in front of the building, but it may not be too convenient to park.

  2. Overall I really liked the place and, as of now, cannot think of any cons for...

OMG ! I couldn't wait to leave this review. My family and I were in from out of town for a gymnastics competition and wanted thai food. We found this place and I am so glad we did. The employees all seemed nice. The food, THE FOOD !?!? It was so delicious. Pretty sure we ordered a little bit of everything. The egg rolls were delicious ( looks like it was about 3 egg rolls cut in half). The spring rolls had everything you needed ( its 2 big spring rolls cut into thirds). We got the papaya salad, Asian style, hot and omg it was so delicious and very hot. I had to ask for a side of vermicelli noodles to add to it to help with the spice. I love spicy food but maybe ill get the medium spice level next time. The chicken satay was perfect. I was nervous that it came with sauce all over it rather than on the side but surprisingly it was amazing and needed nothing. Also got the beef pho and it was so flavorful and didn't need to add anything extra besides a little bit of spice. The Thai iced coffee was PERFECT, I almost wanted to order another one. The waitress was so good, attentive and a pleasure. My family and I were a little needy and she was right there every time and didn't seem to be bothered at all with a smile on her face the entire time. She did an amazing job. Anytime im in Syracuse I will be...

This place came highly recommended, and the first time I had a noodle bowl, it was good. The second time I went to Thai Village, I tried two different dishes - one was a beef salad and the other was the classic gai satay. They were terrible! Inedible! Unless you like sauce that tastes like nothing but salt, you will not be able to eat these. I don't know if it was because of the particular cook, or because I got there 1/2 hour before the restaurant closed and they didn't want to deal with anymore customers, but the food was terrible, the service lackluster, and the place unoccupied. I returned the first dish, much to the waiter's annoyance (and I could hear the cook in the back yelling). I tried the second dish, hoping after complaining the first just tasted like salt would make a difference, but it just tasted like salt, too! I left really frustrated and disappointed; it was a waste of time, money, and a meal. It literally left a terrible taste in my mouth. I had to go down the street to Freedom of Espresso and get a latte and a cookie to get the nasty taste out of my mouth. I will NEVER go back! Go to Erawan on Erie Boulevard. The food is always delicious at Erawan, service is always friendly, and they are always packed! I have been eating there for over two decades and NEVER had a bad meal!...

I saw the review telling you to ignore all the good reviews; that you can't put a new name on the old Appethaising place and expect anything good... That's just... Wrong! Excellent, excellent food! My first time here, and I've had good Thai. Everybody's got Pad Thai, so I tried that standard dish for my first time, just to compare. It was easily top two from restaurants around the country that I've been to. My son got the Beef soup. He wanted the pork soup, but they didn't have it ready, and it would take them 2 hours to make it -- because it's done right! Still, the look on his face when he tasted flavors he didn't expect was priceless! Huge bowl too! A little on the pricey side (covid labor, covid food prices), but you get what you pay for. It's worth it. Do it once! You don't have to go back, but I bet you will.

We dined in for the first time and enjoyed every minute! We did not get any appetizers, but our meals were simply wonderful. I ordered the pad thai with chicken, and though it is not a spicy dish, when I asked about it our server offered that they would gladly make it spicy. When our dinners arrived they were as beautiful as they were delicious. Lovely blend of flavors, and the spice was perfect for me. My dinner partner ordered spring rolls and a shrimp dish (I can’t remember the name) but he said his was delicious as well. I had only a very small amount left on my plate when I was done, but I couldn’t let even that bite or two be wasted so I still asked for a to go box. Our server was beyond welcoming and friendly, and very attentive. It was a wonderful dinner start to finish.
