Went opening week to see Conclave. First I will address interior improvements . Five stars. Beautifully done. Concession stand nicely displaying merchandise. Purchase of my tickets were at Concession. Other area is available also. Tickets are expensive at $20. Senior price is $17.00. Seats are beautifully designed for comfort with reclining back and raised footrest features. Large tray and cop holder. Rows are nicely spaced apart. No disturbing of fellow patrons. Since they serve food I hope the trays are wiped down between shows. I’m not a fan of dining at the movies. The screen was large and perfect for all seating areas. The sound system is a major problem. It blasted us in a movie that had normal speaking level dialogue and concentrating on quiet observation of procedure and scenery. So loud that we heard the sound system in the adjacent theatre room. Unacceptable. One star for this annoying problem. No one from management even bothered to check the room during showing. Two stars. Otherwise management was fine in greeting us. Five star. Recommendation. Seniors don’t like to drive when dark. Especially winter. Why not have a Matinee during the week. Many travel west to Island 16 to see matinees. Don’t miss this...
Read moreI saw a movie here late at night. The projection and sound quality was terrible. Near the end of the movie, the picture stopped and didn't come back again. Myself and other patrons left to find out what was going on. The movie was playing by itself. We wandered around the lobby and found no staff around. I was even able to get behind the concession stand because the door was unlocked. We looked in all the projection booths and found all the movies were automatically running.
Eventually a man looking like a custodian went into the movie I had been watching, assuming to fix it. I left not only because the movie I was seeing was boring, but because the experience of walking around this empty theater was very weird.
If you're on the North Fork during the summer, go to Greenport Cinemas or somewhere else. It's worth the...
Read moreUpdate: 6/15/2025. After Covid I thought the theater was gone for good. I was happy to hear it had returned and just saw a movie there. The theater has been upgraded significantly and was so much nicer than it was in the past. They have self serve ticket purchase screens now, theater seats with power recliners, and the seats are more spread out now so it's much more comfortable with leg room. I was even surprised that our popcorn seemed to taste very good. It's nice to have this as an option again.
I've been going here for decades as it's the only real viable option for year round movie viewing on the North fork. Theater shows some signs of age and they only...
