Incredible show tonight - 42nd Street! Had never been there tho lived in area 17 years and am looking into season tickets. WHAT a Performance! Grew up performing these songs and yet tonight was a WHOLE NEW Experience. The "Julian Marsh" performer's singing gave me goosebumps - he must have been trained. Maggie Jones, one of the writers of the "Pretty Lady" play was, however, my favorite character and her part in the "Shuffle Off to Buffalo" - her timing and mannerisms - clearly conveying her character made HER the best part of the play, to me. The Brock and Sawyer characters were fine singers and actresses and the dancers were a thing of beauty to watch, every one of them. LOVED the period hair styles - and clothing. Found myself cheering for the long brown haired dancer - her acting didn't seem like an act - that she was very into her part in EVERY scene. Praying to see her again when I'm there next! The location was unexpected - looked like an ordinary school from the outside but inside, the large room with NO bad seats made me completely forget I wasn't watching a big show downtown. Very comfortable chairs, and good amount of rest rooms (included one handicapped). Intermission was even fun! Loved this play and highly highly encourage any of my fellow Buffalonians, Niagara Falls folks and of course Tonawanda and Kenmore peeps to consider this hidden gem at a GREAT price (my seat was $17) for their...
Read moreI want to leave no stars, but this site won't let me. I am very upset. The Ellicott Creek Playhouse would NOT let us in to see their musical today because they required vaccine cards and facemasks today (May 14, 2022). We all had our vaccine cards except we forgot one card. The card of my 12-year old. So they would not let us in. The staff was rude. The ticket agent and ticket taker were nasty to us. I asked, "So all seven of us can go in but my 12-year old daughter has to sit outside?" They replied, "THOSE ARE THE RULES." Also, At first they were even reluctant to refund my money for the tickets. My daughter had her vaccines in October and November 2021, but I couldn't remember the exact date to look it up online. And they would not help me find the NYS Excelsior Covid site. I have a new phone and I don't have pictures of her card either. I am feeling frustrated, angry, and sad. We are going to a movie instead. There are no mask mandates in NYS. Sheas does not require this anymore. We went last week to a theatre in Lockport and they did not require this. I am disappointed in the staff at the Ellicott Creek Playhouse. SHAME...
Read moreSomething Rotten. Niagara Regional Theater Guild This play was such a surprise. Normally when someone talks about going to a play I stop listening. (Boring). Well my mom and her friend had to change their plans at the last minute and gave their tickets to my wife and I. I honestly didn't want to go to a small theater in Tonawanda and be bored for two and a half hours, but my wife guilted me into just checking it out. She said if it was lame we could leave at anytime. I wasn't expecting this. The first minute hooked me. The second minute was even better. The music, costumes and characters were all terrific. I couldn't believe that, I was enjoying very much a play, a MUSICAL nun the less. This show blew me away. I can't believe that I almost missed it. This show is done now, but I'm looking forward to the next play at the Elliott creek playhouse. Thank you to the cast and crew for fixing what ever was wrong in my head that failed to let me enjoy the art of the theater. I'm still singing the songs, Welcome to the 🎶 ...
