Well every friggin time I go in the new storage facility WHICH I HATE. *EVERY TIME I walk in facility, there is this older male employee who appears to be of middle eastern is extremely hard to understand & IS EATING FOOD AT THE DESK IN THE MAIN OFFICE ON YOUNG STREET , TONAWANDA, NY Then acts as if I’m disturbing him in his break. Last time I was there he made me wait while finishing his fast food sandwich. SERIOUSLY! from after explaining to that I AM NOT ABLE TO USE PAY ONLINE FEATURE. The gentleman said that “he hasn’t had any complaints for anyone & he’s unaware of any technicals problems with website if I want to complain I need to call headquarters “ I said ok may I have the number he said “JUST LOOK IT UP ONLINE GO TO GOOGLE!” ! Geesh thanks for the help! NOT I then proceeded to show him what happens when selecting this option for payment.. His reply was “OH LOOK RIGHT THERE THATS THE PROBLEM MAM YOUR PAYMENT IS OVERDUE YOU ARE LATE THAT IS WHY YOU CAN NOT PAY ONLINE YOU MUST PAY YOUR BILLS AS SOON AS THEY ARE DUE” so now I HAVE TO GO ACTUALLY GO INTO FACILITY TO PAY FOR STORAGE UNIT.. ( to be what reprimanded by a staff member? Yeah ok) I have to actually go in due to the fact the online payment feature NEVER WORKS. I explained My payment is never late & I still can’t pay. I don’t like calling to pay over the phone, giving my card info IHE SAID WHY ARE YOU LATE THEN. I explained i was out of town tried to pay several times BUT COULD NOT. (I pay 3 months in advance) MY ISSUE WAS MEVER RESOLVED AND THE EMPLOYED MADE ME *SERIOUSLY in a FORCEFUL WAY literally the male employee as described ) got up from his chair, came around the counter walking right up next to me standing tmaking me feel very UNCOMFORTABLE touching my phone making sure I click this click that saying “yeah yeah that’s it, click that yes that thank you mam as he was HOVERING over my phone once he actually clicked on SOMETHING himself nNOT SURE … I was trying to read it & he says NO NO JUST CLICK RIGHT HERE as I’m doing it cause he basically intimidates you into filling out online survey funny his dialect was all of a sudden easy to comprehend. MAKING ME CLICK EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE haven’t going back to his chair until I completed this survey!!! *INSTEAD since changing to this NEW NAME I HAVE TO GO ACTUALLY GO INTO FACILITY TO PAY FOR STORAGE UNIT.. due to the fact the online payment feature NEVER WORKS ON THE 1st PLACE .., **which I would have NEVER agreed to all their bullshit FYI previous business life storage was opened 24/7 that’s why I chose it. NOW if you want to have 24 hour access you NOW have TO PAY AN ADDITIONAL FEE to access this option!! Immediately after changing owners to this new storage facility the prices went up my storage fee went up $40.per month JUST STRAIGHT UP MORE MONEY! POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE! UNKEPT FACILITY! *NEVER WAS THIS PLACE SO JUNKY & UNKEPT UNTIL Exchanging hands new owners new management and new staff. I’m a long time renter this is ridiculous! Read moreDo not store your stuff with extra space storage. All of my belonging were in two units at the location on young street in Tonawanda for over five months. When me and my family moved our stuff out we found water damage and mold over all of our stuff. Kazi the manager told me it’s not a big deal that’s why you have insurance and it’s an easy process to file a claim. Well that was nothing but lies. We took many pictures and filed our claim back in November with all the proof of everything. All for there insurance you pay for threw ESIS to deny our claim after 35 days because the management at extra space storage dropped the ball and told them that no water or anything was leaking in there units to there knowledge. How would they know a month later if it was truly leaking if the units are occupied and hasn’t rained as much with it being winter and them not being certified people to check the structure? All of our furniture. My kids bed sets, clothes and other house hold items adding up to over 10,000 were thrown in the garbage. We paid for insurance for those two units for nothing! They are a scam and so is the insurance they want you to get. DO NOT TRUST A WORD THEY SAY AND WATCH WHAT YOU STORE IN THEIR UNITS IF YOU WANT IT TO GET DESTROYED AND THEM DO NOTHING ABOUT IT. Read moreDoug Doak at Life Storage at 521 Young Street is great! He helped me out immensely with my storage dilemma. I had had my stuffed stored with Life Storage on South Transit Road in Lockport for over a year and a half in two of their largest units...(ie lot's of $$$$ spent on my part). Due to the date of the closing on my house I wasn't able to vacate my storage units completely until September 5th, 2017. Upon my asking for a prorated bill for that month I was told rather curtly by a golf cart driving manager at that facility that there was nothing she could do because I had already pre paid for the month on the two units. Thankfully Doug was on TDY assignment at that facility and I was able to get HIS help. He made calls to the Area Manager and WAS able to get me a full refund for the entire month of September for BOTH units! Amazing what can be accomplished when someone goes just a little bit out of their way to serve a customer. Again, Doug Doak at the 521 Youngs Street location is excellent to his customers! He didn't try to gouge me for the month. Can't say enough good things about him. I would avoid the Lockport location on South Transit...
