Burt's Electronics — Attraction in Town of Ulster

I went to Burt's with all of my own parts, in hopes of getting an auxiliary battery wired in my van. Burt explained to me that my plan would have resulted in my van's electrical system frying, then took about two hours to help me research and plan out how to properly wire this! He didn't charge me for the consultation. I am now ordering the correct parts and will DEFINITELY get the system wired at Burt's. In addition to being a true professional, Burt is a smart, funny and personable guy, with GRATE taste in music! Check out his vintage vinyl selection and poster collection! I have found that more often than not, mobile audio installers over charge, do poor work, and are not willing to help when their installs fail. Burt, on the other hand, takes his time and does it right the first time. If he is not comfortable with an install, he will turn down the sale, rather than jeopardizing your vehicles electrical system or warranty.

Burt is an extremely knowledgeable guy and has a good selection of high-quality items at reasonable prices. He's often the only place to go. And he knows it. I have been a customer for a while, but no longer. I am so tired of being condescended to and fought on everything I say or do. Burt seems to have no problem talking down to a man with his teenage son there, making fun of the gentleman's setup from back when he was in college. He seems to need to make sure everyone knows he knows what he's talking about. If you go there, prepare for a lecture, even if you're just buying a discwasher refill bottle. None of us are good enough for him. On top of all of this, I have to say, I have found his car stereo install work suspect. He regularly breaks trim pieces and I found sloppy splicing and wire layout galore on the last one he did. It's not worth it to go back for a repair or anything, I just do it myself. This guy is an absolute clown. We called him and he told us he could try and get something in for us in a couple days. Told one of us that he ordered it and he was "waiting for the UPS truck" when I called, he told me he never even ordered it becuase we made it clear we did not want it. Then the other person called again a month later, he told him to order it, I called 3 days later, he told me that it does not come over night so we have to let him know if we want it or not even though we have told him two times to order it. The guy will tell you BS just to try and get you to keep coming to him when he actually does not do what he says.
