"Kings Valley Diner Is A Hidden Gem Of Deliciousness!"
Firstly, I had no intentions on buying food or anything else. I was in the area to conduct business. But as I exited UCAT Transportation (for those of us with disabilities), my oldsensory perception, was slapped, by a whiff of coffee. Even in pain, I had to stop & taste the air, lol! As, I went about my business, I wondered...
I was done in 10 minutes, and was eager to renter the parking lot, just so I could smell the coffee again. Instead? My sister Denise & I decided to walk across the HUGE parking lot, to where the smell came from. It was a painful journey physically, but I didn't care. I HAD to get a cup of that coffee.
Needless to say Kings Valley Diner did not disappoint. The establishment is clean from the outside in, has a ramp accessible for those of us that need it, and the insides were AMAZING. It was immaculate, beautiful to the eye, smelled AWWWWWSOME, the staff is absolutely wonderful - a special kudos to our waitress, "Destiny" - beautiful customer service! I mean does it get any better? Lol! Well, let me tell you ...IT DOES. The serving sizes are HUGE, the food looks like you're in heaven, and the taste??? I was so in love with my salad, I couldn't stop enjoying it. Denise had the King Combo Breakfast & I had the NY Cobb Salad, along with some coffee. And yes, I bought a slice of cherry pie, and some chicken soup for dinner tonight, lol! I couldn't even finish my salad, lol! Neither did Denise, but she surely put a dent in itš.
There's a wonderful friendly-family feel here, the prices are reasonable, and the food is GOOD. I didn't see a bad plate once. I recommend this eatery. It's well worth the trip! Thank you again Kings Valley Diner. I think we found the spot for my sister's birthday dinner this month! š
As a licensed business owner myself, in Kingston, NY (PLOTS PROOFING & PROMOTING SERVICES, LLC 'dba' Cyber Clerical Associates - Amazon Book Publishing & Virtual Assistant Services), I value good business, service, and product. I also feel it's imperative for businesses to support one another. I look forward to making my rounds to the local businesses here & leaving reviews. Love It! Now go get some...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI have been eating at Kings Valley Diner for years, and have been for the most part satisfied with the food I have eaten there. That changed dramatically last night and we will not be going back. Before I begin, letās take a moment to be real. Itās diner food, no one expects Michelin Star quality but you do expect the food to be hot and fully cooked. Last night we got neither. To be fair, my experience was not as bad as my wifeās was. I ordered a bowl of chili and a Caesar salad. The salad was fine, no real complaints there. The flavor of the chili was ok, but it was luke warm and the cheese on top was not melted. The experience my wife had was much worse. She used to love the Greek fries they serve there and so ordered them, in the past the diner used thick cut fries for this dish. They switched to shoestring fries, which is not a problem in and of itself. But they came to the table, cold, half cooked, soggy, and greasy. She thought that maybe it was because of all the stuff they put on the fries. That changed when she got her sandwich. She ordered a grilled chicken wrap, which came with fries. The fries with the sandwich were just as cold and undercooked as the ones served as Greek fries. The wrap was cold and the cheese was not close to melted. When she complain to the waiter, he went to talk to the manager, and did not come back. Later when he brought the check, my wife asked if there would be a discount because the food was cold and undercooked. He said no. When we went to pay, the manager was working the register. My wife again asked about a discount because of the poor quality of the food and he said no. When she pressed him a little, he said he had just had some fries and he āloved themā. Clearly lying to us. We paid and told the manager that we would not be back again. He didnāt seem to care, and we left. If that is his attitude to his customers, I canāt imagine he will be in business very long.. there are plenty of other diners in the area to eat at, and almost certainly people will go to those rather than eat poorly cooked food and be treated like they...
Read moreThis used to be my favorite diner in the area, but lately, it hasn't been great. The past few times I've dined here, the food and service have been sub-par. One time, we ordered wings, and they came pretty much cremated and inedible. They were dry. That same day, we both ordered French onion soups, and the cheese was totally burnt. Their French onions were always my favorite, but the cheese was almost completely charcoal. The following time, I ordered the prime rib, medium rare, and it came out very well done. We had to wait because of it, and it would've been quicker if they had just cooked it normally. That day was busy and chaotic for them. The soda machine broke, which is not their fault but still. Then, today, I went for lunch with my mom. There were maybe 5 other tables. We were seated and had our orders taken promptly, and our soups came out okay. But when our entrées came out, they forgot I substituted the fries with kvd fries, which I do every single time. We mentioned it, and the waitress just left, so I assumed she heard. I was already full and ready to go when she gave me a plate full of kvd fries. It took way too long. She didn't check up on us until 20 minutes after the entrées came out. The waitress seemed totally overwhelmed despite there only being a few other people there, and the service was nonexistant. I ended up taking most of it to go. This place used to be great, with good service and great food, but now it's just okay. When the food comes out right, it still tastes good, but the inconsistency in food and service is not acceptable. I hope they can turn...
