I recently visited Salmon Run Mall and was quite disappointed by the lack of stores and selection available. As someone who enjoys a variety of shopping options, this mall fell far short of my expectations.
Firstly, the number of stores in the mall is surprisingly limited. Walking through, I found numerous empty storefronts, which gave the place a somewhat deserted and uninviting feel. It's clear that many retail spaces are either unoccupied or have recently closed, contributing to a sparse shopping environment.
Secondly, the selection within the stores that are open is not much better. Many of the shops offer similar products, with little to differentiate one from another. There is a noticeable lack of high-end retailers, unique boutiques, and specialty shops that usually make mall shopping an enjoyable experience. Instead, the mall seems to be dominated by a handful of generic, chain stores that offer the same merchandise you can find anywhere else.
The food court is also underwhelming, with a limited number of dining options. Most of the available choices are fast food chains, with very few sit-down restaurants or unique eateries. This makes it difficult to find a satisfying meal or a place to relax and enjoy some quality food after a shopping spree.
Overall, Salmon Run Mall suffers from a severe lack of diversity in its retail and dining options. The absence of a wide range of stores and unique selections makes it hard to justify a visit. Until the mall can attract more tenants and offer a more varied shopping experience, I would recommend looking elsewhere for your...
Read moreAs far as malls go it's alright, they're becoming a thing of the past as it's easier to order online and save the hassle of dealing with the crowds when they're busy or emptiness when they aren't. One of the few malls left in upstate NY, Utica still has 1 of the 3 they did have and Syracuse has 2 of the 4 they had, granted Destiny USA is big enough to make up for the 2 they closed it also increased driving distance for most people in that area that used to have Great Northern and Shopping Towne Mall as one was on the north side of the city and the other in the southern part, that alone is a testament to how well Salmon Run has faired in a time when it's genuinely easier to stay home and have whatever your looking for mailed to you, but then if clothes dont fit its more of a hassle to send them back and get a proper fit, but again saves gas and having to deal with people working in short staffed stores that are worked beyond what they signed up for and are often miserable from it, but anyway if you like going to the Mall this one isnt a bad one, could definitely be worse or closed like many others in the state, so maybe stop on by and keep a few of these places open so our kids can enjoy the act of going to the Mall and catching a movie with first loves and meeting friends for lunch in the food courts before they become a thing of the past and there's only our memories to share instead of the good times we all had taking a trip...
Read moreReally enjoyed this mall with my small children! We had the luck of going on the same day as Family Fun Day (early May), and it was an awesome experience! I hope they continue to host that event in years to come. The store selection seemed typical, and the food court was varied with several usual offerings (Sbarro, Chinese food, etc) but some unique options like a yummy burger joint and smoothie/boba tea bar, too. The family restroom was amazing! Spacious and well kept plus the friendly cleaning staff was constantly on rotation so facilities were nice and clean. Only reason I gave the mall 4 stars instead of 5 is because I couldn't find a coffee shop. They would have made a killing especially with all the tired moms and dads on hand with their small children! Otherwise, I would definitely recommend this as a stop for parents of small children. I hope to return and enjoy the mall while my littles get their...
