I visited a handful of years ago, when I was traveling the East half of the states. I literally never forgot this book store I loved it so much!! It's iconic in my mind and I only had the chance to visit a few days, stayed across the street in the hotel actually, (i think it is a hilton property...some stupid shit who cares!! The best part about the hotel...is that it is so close to Classic's Bookstore!!! Hahaha) i literally remember more about the trips to the shop after doing the tourist bull shit during the day, and definitely way more than my friend's wedding I was actually there for!! We pulled up into the loop to dump our bags and I could take them upstairs, but the first thing i saw driving up was this store, and it was immediately obvious that I was actually going to cross the street and pop in first, before worrying about checking in!! Hahaha! I ended up visiting a few times and chatting with, who i think was the owner, awesome guy! Loved interacting together and he helped me find the books I wanted, and was kindly and thoughtful when I came back to the counter after perusing around and grabbing a few more titles! Like, seriously this is one of my all time favorite book shops. It's got "THE" vibe! It's got a heavy essence of the perfectly aged and worn scent emanating off the shelves, mixed with the fresh air of spring...yeah it's just, totally classic!!! I have a habit, (i travel full time...they call it "van-life" i guess now?? Back in the day they called it "go away you hippy bum!!!!" 🤣🤣) but I have a habit of stopping every chance I get in as many towns as I can and checking the local book shops, and this one has ALWAYS stood out in my mind and memory!! They don't call it a Classic...
Read moreFrom the pictures and reviews I’m going to assume this is a great bookstore—totally up my alley. However, I can’t come in. I’m visiting in the area and I always look up bookstores—independent bookstores. I found this one, got excited. Wanted to go Tuesday—they’re closed. I saw they’re open on Wednesday at noon. I didn’t even bother to check when they closed—so that’s on me—I would have never guessed they closed at 1:30! I figured it would be like 5? But they’re only open an hour and a half. I looked at Thursday’s hours—same. I’m actually befuddled at these kinds of hours, and very disappointed. I so wanted to come in, but my schedule only allows me after 2 in the afternoon, and so I gotta leave for home and I won’t be able to go to this cool looking bookstore. I have it 5 stars because I’m sure it’s a great place, and I also wanted to express my disappointment, and also to warn others——they have whacked hours. Check the hours so you don’t...
