I tried this nail salon because it is down the street from work. I have been here before but it was many years ago. When I walked I saw that the place was quite larger than I remembered. I was greeted and asked what type of service I want. I was going to get dip nails and a pedicure. First I had to get acetone put on my nails and wrapped in foil to soak off my previous set. I was probably sat at a station where this task was performed. Then I had my pedicure. Then I went back to another nail station to continue the dip nail process. My hands were in acetone for over an hour. My skin began to crack and split open. It was very painful. The nail technician told me it was because my previous that was so thick. I have never experienced anything like this. My pedicure was fabulous and the nail technician that did my toes recognize me from another nail shop I got my nails done paid for my services and left. Less than 4 days later my nails cracked I lost pieces of my nails. I was very unhappy with the service. I waited about a week I went back in to try them again. I spoke to the lady at the front desk and she said that I should try a different nail technician because everyone has their own style. Perhaps the person that did my nails the first time it's not compatible with how I might prefer my nails to be done. I got my dip nails a second time. the lady did them particularly send for some reason. When I asked they said that's what they do at the salon. I kind of had a feeling that they were too thin and would not last. After my nails dried I noticed that sides of them were bumpy. I attributed this to the clear coat not being put on even like. I let the lady up front no. She retrieved my nail technician from the back and they attempted to fix it. She did the best she could without taking them off and doing them all over again. I figured a few bumpy sides would be no big deal for two weeks ... I would just get my nails done again in a few weeks no big deal. Two days Later the same thing started to happen. It's at least $35 for the dip nail manicure. I just feel that if I'm paying 40 bucks a pop including tip my nails should last more than a few days. I thought about going back and having them fix the two nails that broke however it's been a couple days and I didn't know if they would acknowledge that it was a failure in performing the service adequately or not. I don't know if I'll be back to this establishment because I've tried them twice now and I've been unpleased both times. It seems like they do a lot of business and have a lot of customers from the University of Arizona. And just felt like their focus was not a person of my genre and their product was less than desirable especially...
Read moreI would give this place zero stars if I could. I went in to get an eyebrow and eyelash tint. First of all, they did not ask for a patch test or anything. She laid me down and wasn’t going to remove my makeup on my brows and lashes. I had to tell her I should remove it, then I had to go and remove my makeup myself. At this point I should have known not to continue. She then put the tint on my brows (I asked for a lighter brown and I stressed don’t do it too dark because I have very very blonde hair) and then began to do my lashes at the same time which you shouldn’t do. She did my bottom lashes with my eyes open which is the not procedure I have had at any of the other many places I have visited. Then when she done with the lashes, she removed the dye on my brows and she kept pulling my eye lids open slightly causing my eyes to burn from the dye (again this is not the correct procedure). Usually with the dye they start light, and ask if you want it another shade darker. However, she decided herself my brows weren’t dark enough and added some more tint. I was more concerned about my eyes at this point. She then took off the dye on both my eyes and my brows. She told me to open my eyes but they were still stinging and luckily I knew not to do that. I asked her to soak my eyes on a pad and I had to do this myself before opening my eyes. Then, when I finally saw my brows they were the worst things I have ever seen in my life. They were almost black and the tint had stained my skin. I told her they looked terrible and wayyy too dark. I was freaking out and she was trying to remove the colour. She managed to eventually get it off my skin but my brows are still too dark and she was rubbing them for so long that my skin was burning. They are still red now and are very painful and I am receiving treatment for my skin because they are badly burned and red from the solution she was using. She kept pressing me to wax my eyebrows so they are thinner and don’t look as dark but then I had no eyebrows and a bad shape??? Honestly I’m so disappointed and I don’t feel comfortable with how I look and my eyebrows look awful. I have also noticed the eyelash tint has stained the top of my eyelids slightly just so I can look even worse. This is the worst experience of my life and I will never be going back. They seriously need to change this procedure because someone...
Read moreWhen you've just had a pedicure, you should feel wonderful. You should be relaxed, and your feet should feel heavenly and look amazing. That wasn't true for me, so this was my first and only visit to Classy Nails. It wasn't relaxing, it felt rushed, and I didn't find the staff friendly.
No pre-soaking, injuries during clipping, slim standard polish selection, non-sanitary tool use, lack of communication, no-drying table. Conveyor belt. Pedicure results 3; customer service/setup 1.
It started with picking the polish -- a meager selection for non-gel polish if you can find it. This was followed by a crowded setup, which made it rather awkward to squeeze in to the chair and get out with wet polish on.
I'm not sure if she was new, but, ... I have never had a technician clip nails prior to soaking, but mine did, and I think it was that extra effort that resulted in her cutting into my cuticles a few times. It was not pleasant. She did a good job in the massage, exfoliation and polish.
I'm not a huge germaphobe, but it was a little disconcerting when she dropped the polish-remover brush on the ground and reused it later on my skin. Yes, it was dipped in acetone, which should kill any germs, but still, ... Considering that I knew I had some injuries from the clipping, I didn't think that was OK, and gave my feet a peroxide wash once I got home.
When the polishing was done, the technician put my sandals on, emptied the basin without a word and walked away. I was left to wonder, should I stay a few minutes to dry, or are they kicking me out? No one ever came back except to bring a piece of paper (like a bill?), but people were waiting, so I tried as gracefully as I could to get out, and then I paid. You have to give cash for tips.
My polish wasn't dry, so I sat in the waiting area for 10 minutes until too many people came in waiting for appointments. Seriously, no light tables (probably so they can fit more chairs or eyelash extension rooms in)? No one to say, relax here to dry? Take your time?
I have never had any other place NOT say take your time and let it dry so it doesn't get ruined. I know many people love this place, by my experience is that this is just a place to get a quick service, one in which they just want to get the next customer...
