I am an Afghan American who has been living in Tucson, AZ for the past three years. All these years I have been desperately searching for a place that has authentic Afghan cusine that tasted like home. Finally, today my search has ended as I found one of the best tasting Afghan food restaurants Ive ever had. Wow! as an appetizer I ordered the bolanee (half potato and half leek) and it was absolutely delicious. It came out hot, perfectly cooked, and had the perfect mix of spices. A must have!!! For Entrees we ordered the chicken and Chaplee kabob…I couldnt eat them fast enough, they were so flavorful and the portions were large enough to take home. The bread is made fresh in a tandoor which gives it a more authentic taste. Absolutely incredible. I also love that a quarter of the restaurant sells Afghan spices, bread, rice and other items that can only be found in an “Afghan market.” No need to ask family members from California or Virginia to send me “Afghan” food items as its now in my own backyard. :)

Much like the food, the hospitalilty was unmatched. As an Afghan being a gracious host is a big part of our culture and from the moment we walked in Latik and Adia Jan (sorry if I spelled wrong) made us feel right at home. I was thrilled to speak Farsi with them and get to know more of their backgrounds. After dinner, they gave us tea and dessert on the house. I felt like I was at a family members house, so much so that we forgot to leave a tip ! haha We are so sorry!! we owe you double next time.

They even went one step further and gave me free torshi, pickled vegetables with spices after I expressed how much I love having it with my meals at home. We met the other owners of the establishment who all came out and ensured we enjoyed our meals and if they can provide us anything else. I am sooo happy I found this place and cant wait to come back and bring friends and relatives. Thank you so much for everything. I now know where to visit when Im...

I’m torn about this place. I want all local businesses to thrive. I ordered the qubali palow, the menu said chunks of lamb. What I got was old lamb shank buried under rice with julienne carrots and raisins garnishing it. It was underwhelming. It was not what was stated on the menu, meaning they dumped leftovers on me. The second item was a chicken dish, can’t remember the name, it was coated with oil and the chicken was days old and dry. Maybe when it was made it was good, whenever that was. The salad that came with this was just cabbage, sliced tomato, lime wedge, and sliced cucumber(no dressing). Not sure what the intention of that was, definitely not a salad. I went to this restaurant at peak lunch time on a Saturday, and there were no customers. That should have been a red flag, but I had to try it out. I also tried an appetizer which was a thin dough filled with leeks, slightly spicy, grilled, browned in oil, came with a vinegar green sauce and yogurt sauce. It was okay. Also, some microwave heated days-old bread came with the meal, once it cooled down it was hard as a rock. Lastly, we ordered a dessert which was like a funnel cake, fried strands of wheat flour fried in oil then soaked in a rose water sugar syrup. They had this dessert pre-made in a deli case. I asked the proprietor if I ordered this would it be made fresh and fried to order, he said, yes. What we got was the pre-made item microwaved, lied to and disappointing. If I ever return here they need to really think about what they are serving. My food was days old and reheated. The place also was a store with retail goods and never understood why they mix the two, but the retail goods have been there a while. I was really hoping to get some extraordinary ethnic food. I don’t think I am returning to this restaurant because they won’t change...

i visited this place maybe last year a little bit after they had first opened up; i remember a falafel wrap that was so good, i ordered two at a time. i recently stopped back in while doing my laundry next door and was so excited to see how they’d settled in and switched it up since my last visit ! my friend and i ordered the qabuli palaw to split, and when i say that this food was so delicious it made me almost weep, i am not exaggerating. to make something so simple as lamb and rice taste so heavenly that i had to stop and give thanks to god several times throughout the meal is an ability that few cooks can ever hope to have, but you can find that here at Kabul Corner. the lamb melted in my mouth like butter on toast. we were the only ones seated to eat at the time, but the owners were so gracious and friendly and let us take our time and hang out in the coolness of the restaurant while we waited on our laundry next door. their selection of snacks and bulk fruits and nuts is also a really welcome addition, as you can eat your meal and then peruse the shelves to find some tasty treats to bring home with you ! i’ll also add that the size of the entrees, for the price, is absolutely unbeatable in this day & age; one entree for two people was MORE than enough for us to get our fill and STILL leave with the leftovers bagged up. if i were to order one plate for myself, that would be enough food for at LEAST 3 meals. but the food here is so delicious, it might only last for two :) i cannot recommend Kabul Corner enough if you’re looking for a meal that will be fulfilling to your body and your soul. i’m so happy this...

If you don't know Kabul Corner, then you don't know Tucson cuisine. Ladies and gentlemen this restaurant is a beacon of gastronomic hope that shines brilliantly over the cross streets of Campbell and Fort Lowell. A new attraction featuring food from the old world, step into this clean, well lit establishment and order any number of delightful dishes to suit your palate. I recommend the teka kabob. The lamb was so delicious I forgot I was in Tucson, and the deserts here are as reasonably priced as they are refreshing. The chutney here is delectable and pairs well with everything at this restaurant. If you love Afghan food, you need to come here. If you dislike Afghan food, then Kabul Corner will change your mind. And if, perchance, you've never had Afghan food, then strap yourself in for an adventure in gastronomy the likes of which you can only imagine your wildest dreams. The service here is beyond impeccable. The courtesy with which my party and I were treated was probably better than any other restaurant experience I have had. The boys and I were exceptionally touched by the hospitality with which the proprietors of this honorable establishment treated us. How could I know that food from the other side of the globe could make me feel so at home.

Enjoyed a variety of foods and a couple desserts on Sunday with my daughters. This was our first time visiting this restaurant and eating Afghan food. The food was amazing! The service was excellent! We started with bolani gandana it was flavorful and the chutney was super delicious! We then shared the chicken kabob plate and the mantou. I have never tasted such a delicious and savory dish as this..it was picture perfect. The salad was fresh and the baklava was moist and tender. The firni was so creamy and the rose flavor was very subtle. We were very impressed and full!! We will definitely visit again soon!
