This company's unwillingness to stand behind what they sell is appalling. I purchased a bicycle from them and when I got it home noticed that the gears did not work at all. I brought the bike back the next morning and left it with them for repair. I was told that I would be charged for the repair, when I said that was unreasonable, the store associate said I would need to discuss that with the manager. I came in a few days later and was told it would be at least a week before the bike was looked at I said I would rather just have a refund, they said that they would not refund the purchase. I left the bike in their possession and am attempting to dispute the charge on my credit card.
They lost a customer for life rather than refund one fairly small purchase. This is a pretty silly business strategy if you ask me.
About 2 hours after posting the above portion of the review I received a call from Jason the store manager. He had read the review and assured me that there was a miss-communication, they provide free labor on bike repairs for 6 months after purchase. He also informed me that they had fixed the bike and it was ready to be picked up. I told him that this was acceptable and picked up the bike. When I came in this time everyone was pleasant, helpful and informative.
I still think it is a silly policy to not allow returns on products that are defective out of the door. If a problem is found within a reasonable time after purchase, the store should be willing to issue a refund. It is simply good PR. Furthermore, it provides incentive for the staff to practice good quality assurance before putting a product on the sales floor. A non functioning product should never be available for sale to a customer.
I consider this matter resolved at this point, but the bulk of the process was stressful and unpleasant, so I cannot upgrade the overall experience and they will not be my first stop for future purchases until I hear that their business practices have...
Read moreI paid 700 dollars for a treadmill that looked in good condition, I tried it out and everything seemed to be working fine… they wanted to charge me 80 dollars for delivery and set up. I have a truck so they were kind enough to help me load it safely and there was no problem unloading it. The salesman also said you have a 30 warranty if anything goes wrong with it just call us and we’ll take care of it. 2 weeks later the off and on switch started shorting. Tried turning it on and it wouldn’t turn back on. I made sure the power cord was plugged in etc. I flipped it again and came on. To make a long story short… I spoke to the store manager (speedway) and he was instantly reprimanding me for turning it off and on. His response was so unprofessional and accusing. He remarked that he had no clue on what I had done to it… and that I was supposed to pull the key out to turn it off not the on and off switch which I was never told when buying it. wow!! So unprofessional… I mentioned the 30 day warranty and he said that he probably wouldn’t be able to get to it in couple of days plus I would have to bring it to him!! That was never mentioned to me when I purchased it. Instead of having good customer service skills which he definitely needs… he played the blame game…then he said.. I’m going to go above and beyond and go to your house and fix it!! By that time I had enough of his rude behavior. I said that I would fix it myself and I did not want his attitude anywhere near my house. His response was, well there goes your warranty! What a piece of work he was… if they just would have mentioned to me when I bought it that I would have to bring it in if something went wrong with it.. I would have known… that would have been fine, but instead I got reprimanded. So unprofessional.. train your staff better and prevent bad reviews like this one. Oh and you might want to take a basic on customer service as well.. so...
Read moreIam a fan of Play It Again Sports but the young dude at the speedway location surely has a thing or two to learn about customer service and respectful conversation interactions to say the least. I hope the owner who seemed very nice over the phone will wise up and realize that these bad reviews on google do matter and does impact his overall sales I promise you they do. Anyhow I had a baseball glove to sell and the guy on the phone who I'm assuming was the owner because he made reference to his guys was very nice and we had a conversation that basically goes like this . I have a glove to sell and he explains to me in a very respectful manner that they resale the equipment and people are looking fir a deal so he can't give but a fraction of something's worth because he is lucky to get a high fraction of said items worth. And after a pleasant negotiation I said I would be in and do the next day I did go. There was a young guy there who was rude from the beginning and basically laughed at me when I told him what the owner said he would give to me. He basically kinda said that the owner wasn't in that I was dealing with him this day and that the owner wouldn't be in for a couple of days. No I went to the Play It Again Sports on oracle and I sold the glove to them for the cheaper price that the young guy said he would give. So as you see it wasn't the price as why I didn't do business with them it was the poor customer service. So just on this account I do not recommend this location of Play It Again Sports. Now the owner seemed very nice so if your lucky enough to deal with him then hey maybe it's a good store. But I recommend the...
