My wife have waited a long time to try Transplant and we finally did today. We walked in not greeted and waited about 5 minutes before we were told someone will be with you. 5 mins later our order was taken. We were given cups, for our drinks and had to request ice, also were not given lids for the drinks and had to ask for those. We were there for lunch order there 2 sandwich lunch special, pizza, and fries for an appetizer. The pizza came out fairly quickly and was delicious, we were told when the pizza cake out our fries would be shortly after(we expected them before the pizza or at the very least the same time. About 10 minutes go by and no fries or sandwiches had been brought to the table, we see two sandwiches in the window for abour 5min(30 minutes from placing our order), I asked if they were mine and he said yes so I took them to my table. I was told again the fries would be right out and they a few minutes later(even though they had been cooked for a while in the fryer basket just sitting there. I opened my sandwich to spread the meat out as it was all clumped in the middle and found a hair. I told the kitchen they offered to remake it with no apology but I asked for a refund and was told he would tell the manager. We arrived at the store at about 1130am and only the manager and one other were working, the manager left the one employee alone for about 20 minutes of his lunch rush, making him cashier and cook at the same time. This made basic handwashing hard for the employee as he was just trying to keep up, clearly working hard having to wipe his sweat with his arm over the food. The manager eventually came back after a long time and asked as how are food was on the way by, we told him and he said he would refund it. We waited for another 15 minutes to get confirmation of what was being refunded and to get a receipt. This seemed to frustrate the manager, and told me it would just be on my card I said that was okay but just wanted a receipt showing the refund. This was not something that could be produced and a left without printed confirmation of a refund. The meal I believe will show refunded but I have no confirmation, the pizza was good just served before everything else, fries were cold and gross, sandwhich was good until the hair was found, but didn't want to risk some other foreign item in my next sandwich. If he staffing is going to be low at least make sure everyone is available for your lunch rush. Want to try again, maybe dinner will be a...
Read more¡Qué desastre! On our first (and last) visit here we walked into an empty restaurant late in the afternoon on a Wednesday. We had barely gotten in the door when the man across the room at the register indicated he was ready for us.
After looking over the menus in the stand by the door we went up and ordered 2 slices of "double pepperoni" and a half Apple Walnut salad. (The register dude said he usually needs two slices of pizza to fill up, but a half salad is usually enough for two people -- which it was. But having never tried their pizza we decided to stick to one slice each to start out.)
As we walked away from the register I noticed the guy had only rang up one slice of pizza. When I went back he said "Well I guess you get one for free." I wasn't sure whether to thank him or to apologize.
We ended up going the bar side to eat which we found by accident. While waiting for our food I went up and tasted a couple lower-buzz Mosaic beers, and ordered a Boom Bang Pow, which was the least watery of the ones I tried. But still nothing to write home about.
Our salad came out first. The greens were a bit wilted and walnuts were over-candied to the extreme. The croutons were pretty good. The dressing was this weirdly thick sweet concoction, but they gave us a lot of it.
A while later a young woman brought out a tiny slice of cheese pizza swimming in a huge aluminum pan (which in hindsight I guess is the pan for a whole 8"x12" pizza). Since we figured this was the "free" slice we let it go that there was no pepperoni.
A while later the young woman brought out another tiny slice of cheese pizza. This time we stood our ground and insisted we get at least one thing we ordered and paid for. And to her credit she apologized and was back with a slice of pepperoni pretty quickly.
So now finally having two slices of pizza, we ate them. And they were pretty bad. The caramelized outer crust was kinda authentic. But the inner crust was tough, there wasn't much in the way of cheese or pepperoni (if this was double pepperoni I'd hate to see the single version!), and the sauce was boring and also laid on lightly.
I guess all these people who give this place 5 stars, and who say they come back over and over, have different experiences than we did? :(
Oh yeah. And it's handy to Sprouts if you want to do a little post-dining shopping. The parking situation is also good. But since we won't be coming back, none of...
Read moreThe bartender Kelly was amazing and was on top of our drinks and ordering our food. The food service and delivery was lacking. Our wings would not have come out unless we mentioned that we had wings coming after all the pizzas were dedelivered. The food runner came back to apologize and ask the flavor of our wings. The wings came out quickly after. We had to ask about the order of spicy chicken sandwich that had been ordered togo. Upon asking we realized that they forgot about it and we were told "it's 8 minutes out for the chicken sandwich and the employees working main station and the appetizer station are not communicating". Apparently that is the reason food isn't coming out properly. Unfortunately a kitchen always communicates, so this was sad to hear that the manager was working one of those stations.
The manager John walked the chicken sandwich out and shoved it in our faces and said sorry for the wait as he was walking away. We noticed we had bbq chips instead of Jalapeño chips so I approached the manager and said these are supposed to be Jalapeño can I switch them. He replies "They are over here (in a gruff voice), as he walks brisk to the kitchen entrance and tosses the chips on the counter while saying "they are here!" Then John reaches behind the counter and grabs the Jalapeño chips for me.
I let John know that a smile goes a long way! I understood that he is working a kitchen station even though he shouldn't be, but being kind will take him a lot further! All people deserve respect and kindness. It isn't the guests fault that he is working a kitchen station.
We were celebrating a birthday and it's unfortunate that my friend had to deal with that on his...
