Studio Space Tucson — Attraction in Tucson

I met with owner and girlfriend and paid 300 fully refundable deposit for events for next 6 months. First I paid for the first event, all went well and deposit was to be “rolled over to the next event and held” then I am told yesterday that the venue was triple booked on June 29 th and they forgot so had to cancel my upcoming craft event scheduled 7/28 and 7/29.Was told to call in the am to pick up deposit. So at 730 am I called and now I’m told “ nobody has any money,there was a shooting, glass got broken, everyone is broke and more. I stated their finances were not my concern and I wanted a refund today as per the owner broke the contract and I had to refund my vendors and was told there is no money and you must get it on this Sunday. Stated I was not playing their game and will make police report as money is being withheld for no reason.Owner’s girlfriend states she’s trying to come up with money. Do Not book anything here!! The owner and girlfriend have many excuses about everything! The venue is worth the price except for the dirty walls,floor, mice running around and the homeless hanging in the sidewalk! This location is very poor unprofessionally managed, unclean and liers!!!! I recommended with all those issues they should close it or change owners. Not cool. Police...

Worst place ever. He completely double booked our event. So we get there by 5 and some other people are putting up decorations as we arrive. And takes up to a hour to get in contact with tells us that we cannot set up due to them having more people than us and them only speaking spanish. Then proceeds to sit there and watch us as we take everything down and pack up the car. Our DJ got there a half hour earlier than us at 430. He has a website that shows a calendar of times that are booked ours 5pm-1am. We look it up as we are there and clearly see that we are only one booked after like 2. The manager seemed very nice at first when you go to book this venue. Once the event is over and after you and your family clean the space, this manager will still hold your security deposit. I cleaned that venue while I was still in my wedding dress and they tried to tell me I didn't do what I said I did. He refused to give the deposit back because his "cleaning lady" told him not too. When we asked for the owners contact information, the manager said he will not want to talk to you. I feel like this was a scam and a set up.
