This will be the first review that I have ever left for a business. Hopefully this illustrates the impact the experience had on me...My partner and I just moved to Tucson and began furnishing a small apartment. We had great experiences at many other businesses in the area and were very excited to check out the antique mall. We found several beautiful furniture items as well as some needed kitchen ware. All in all, we were prepared to spend around $700. We had a question about the price of a particular item and went to the front desk where we had already dropped items off to purchase. That is when we had the "pleasure" of interacting with Victoria. Considering the items are not Victoria's to sell, I was surprised when she tried to argue with me over my offer to the seller. She was extremely rude and acted as though we were wasting her time. This also surprised me considering neither her, nor the older gentleman behind her had made any attempt to help other customers that were waiting at the counter. They both sat behind the counter chatting the entire time we were there. And when I say behind the counter, I mean way at the back where they could not even be engaged by other customers. I can only assume that the owner was not around. After our interaction we spoke to three vendors who were present. They all separately validated my complaints about Victoria's shrewdness. One vendor offered the explanation that she could not deal with the stress of the job. I have a hard time believing that Victoria's job of sitting around is stressful in any way. She may be refusing to try to make deals because the shop charges outrageous rent prices to vendors, takes 10% of sales AND has a sales tax. Once we confirmed that this was how many people have been treated we chose not to spend any money at this business and would advise others to avoid it as well. There are many other locations in Tucson where the customer is treated fairly...This unfortunately is not one of them. We went in excited, and left...

I had PLENTY of time to browse the flea market, as I was politely told the manager would be on the way to look over some Waterford Crystal, Denton and Hand Mottled Sterling. After 30 minutes of being followed around by a strong, quiet type while we browsed, I inquired as to when the manager may have time. Our chapperone let us know that she was in the front, and the then continued to stay within 10 - feet of us. I became a little uneasy with this because I began to get a feeling that the manager's priority was more in line with keeping an eye on us, than conversing over cherished family relics. But when I got to the front, there was no greeting from the manager or staff. Nothing. I thought I must have spinach stuck between my teeth or something! In retrospect, I realize that possibly my travel clothing(we'd just gotten back into town), or my non-white partner may not have been customary in this establishment...truly, I couldn't say. I employed cheerful manners, I was patient, I didn't allow the tail closely following me around the market to get to me(much), and the selection of antiques that I brought in we're far,far finer than anything I saw in there. So to top all of it off, the manager with her back to me says nothing. Instead her worker approaches me(a bit nervous) informing me that she is only interested in verifiable Sterling, and begins to explain what that means. I politely nod and expand on elements of verifying authenticity. I'm told to wait again, and after 10 more minutes of waiting(absolutely no "I'll be right with you"), I threw my hands up and left. What a demeaning...
Read moreTHERE WAS A VARIETY OF ITEMS. I was super excited to come here for the first time. Huge store with so many vintage items to see. Obviously each seller has different prices and some were reasonable while others were more pricey. There were many amazing things. We left with plenty of items that were very unique.
When my boyfriend and I were checking out a lady around 18 grabbed our stuff. No conversation starter so a bit awkward but whatever. She rings up the total price and asks for a bag with attitude. My boyfriend says yes because we bought many heavy picture frames along with some comics. She put together a stack of some frames and the comics together and SLAMS the stack on the counter to even it out. We were both startled along with the people behind us. She asked if we would like our receipt and we both responded yes. She rudely told us you have to click a button on the card reader but had it facing towards her and turned it over with a sigh of annoyance. I checked our stuff after we paid to make sure anything wasn’t damaged.
Seriously?! My boyfriend and I are around the same age and I don’t think it’s that difficult to be nice to people, especially customers that have no bad intentions and just want to pay for our items. We both had a good experience up until we paid. I don’t think we’ll come back especially seeing other people have dealt with rude...
