Recently returned from my third Chili Bowl Nationals in Tulsa OK. In all likelihood, it will be my last. After spending close to $2,000 for airfare, hotel, car rental, tickets, and food, I feel like I didn't get a good feeling about the experience. Everything drags on so slow. It took forever to get the racing started. The talent and equipment are amazing. Just don't think the promoters give a damn about the spectators. The ladies in the ticket booth were unpleasant, and security folks were downright nasty. Vendor pricing has gone up considerably. Parking was ridiculous, with a whole section next to 21st Street blocked off. I have enjoyed my trips from South Carolina to Tulsa the last few years. But, now I must forgo this trip because of the poor management...
