I go to this whataburger about once a week, usually pretty late. Service is always slow, but most of the time they get it right. However, I don't know who works the dinner shift but I will absolutely never go back there before midnight.
Even told the guy at the first window "wow, this line is moving fast!"
Ordered chicken, which I understand takes a while to grill, so we were told to pull ahead. Waited about 10 minutes, someone brought us the wrong order. We said we were waiting on 3 chicken fajita tacos. Employee comes BACK out and wants the receipt number. Goes inside. Comes out a THIRD time and takes the receipt.
Finally, after sitting outside for 30 minutes, employee brings us 2 tacos and 3 fries. I am livid. I am trying so hard not to be a karen because I work in the service industry and know how people can be. So I go inside with the receipt, which clearly says a total of 3 chicken fajita taco meals.
There are 3 people standing behind the counter doing absolutely nothing. I thought for sure with service this slow its because of an employee shortage, but I guess not. I say "hi. I am missing a chicken fajita taco. There should be 3."
Girl 1 says "we only saw two."
I said "look at this point, I want my money back. I'm not going to go full karen, I've just waited too long."
Girl 2, who looked like she was wearing a manager's shirt, I don't remember, just silently opens the drawer and hands me money. No apology. I said "thank you" and Girl 1 says "have a good night".
Absolutely horrible service. To the point that I might call and complain old fashioned-like lol. I worked fast food. I know how hard it is and how terrible of a job it is. But I apologized to people when I messed up.

Ā Ā Ā Read moreI am a transplanted Texan and I have a special place in my heart for Whataburger. I've been to many through the years and it seems the Tulsa locations may need some extra training from the Whataburgers in Texas or maybe just some training from any given Chick-Fil-A who know how to do things efficiently and who understand what "customer service" is. Ah...a lost art anymore. Anyway... I usually go to the Whataburger off 41st between Yale and Sheridan but we wanted to give this location at 21st and Yale a shot on Saturday 5/27/23. Our order was promptly taken when we walked in so I had great hope this would be a good experience, receipt shows 10:10am. Simple, easy order, nothing special: 2 sausage taquito combos and a side biscuit & gravy. After we watched 5 vehicles go through the drive-thru with their orders after ours was placed, and after another 2 visitors who came to dine in after us also got their food, I inquired about our order. We finally got it at 10:30 and were told they make it fresh as it's ordered. Not exactly. The taquito tortillas were hard on the ends and had obviously been made much earlier that morning and had been sitting under a heat lamp before they were served. There were several workers, so labor did not seem to be a problem that day as it has been for the past couple of years at so many places. 1 man (the only worker who would actually make eye contact with anyone) was bringing food to people and none were cleaning, sweeping, or wiping dirty tables down during our time there. There are too many places to grab decent fast food and if I wasn't such a Whataburger fan, I'd go as far as to say I wouldn't go back. But, I know I will hold out hope for improvement...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreOpenly this was an issue that was my fault, but Whatastaff is untrained in customer service and unaware of how to customer sat issues for guests.
I used the Whataburger app to curbside an order thats marked as a favorite, but it switched orders to a location across town. I didnt realize it switched the location on me, as I've done this a dozen time without ever having an issue.
After a few minutes of no response in the curbside pickup, i went in and the staff tried to find it, but when they couldnt, their response was "itll be out in a few." I assumed they did find it and went on to make it, but nobody communicated this at all.
Another 25 minutes passed, (I was there during the noon rush so i assumed they were just a little busy), before i went up again to ask how the order was going. I was starting to get pressed for time before work started.
The staff then told me that they had never found the order... so they saw me waiting for almost 30 minutes and never said anything to me. I pull out my phone and they point out that I ordered to the wrong place.
Rather than offer to make it for free, they said "sorry!" with a waved hand.
Even if i jumped across town, that food would have been cold or gone by the time i made it, except i had lost so much time that I would never make it there and be on time for my job.
Whataburger needs to retrain their team on customer sat or something, as it was clear the staff does not know how to help guests outside of simple issues. This crew is nice, but they all seemed to ignore the issue or assume someone else was taking care of it, which left me without an answer and ultimately...
